    How On Earth ??

Are Sunderland in the Premier League ?

I think I'd chalk feck it on it if I was a Blade , that's 10 consecutive Wembley defeats , not all Play Off Final defeats but they've had a few down there none the less and a few FA Cup semi final defeats .

They had the game in the bag and just couldn't get that second goal .

Fair play to Sunderland for sticking in the game but I have to say I haven't seen a worse side promoted to the Premier League since probably Swindon Town in 1993 .

I take the point Sunderland have hit the financial jackpot but if they get more than 10 points next season I'll be amazed .

In all honesty, I called this game ?the battle of 20th next season? as even if Sheff United went up they would?ve been bottom all season, probably not getting more than 20 points. Unless they spent a hell of a lot of money.

I guess with Sunderland they have a lot of young players who could potentially thrive in the premier league. But I agree, they will struggle.

Without making things about us (but I am), it feels crazy that under Stendel we pipped Sunderland to automatic promotion after they had loads of games in hand and now they?re in the premier league whilst we are languishing in league 1. I guess football moves quickly.

Back on topic, it will be interesting to see what Sheff United do next season in terms of Wilder and if they can keep their better players. If I were Leeds, I would be on the phone right now for the keeper Cooper as I think he?s probably the best in the championship and if they?d have had him in the nets instead of Meslier this season, they?d have won the league by April. Hamer and Vinicius will attract attention to I would have thought. Agent Kieffer Moore (lovely assist for the winner) will be due a transfer too surely?

Not quite Liverpool's Champions League night in Istanbul twenty years ago but definitely heading in that direction .

Was there ever a worse side that's won the greatest prize in club football ?

Steve Finnan , Jimmy Traore and Cisse !!

Milan had Cafu , Pirlo , Seedorf , Kaka , Maldini , Gattuso , Schevchenko and Herman Crespo .

Shame for the Blunts but they had it their hands and couldnt seal the deal.
NE Derby on again next season, they will enjoy that rivalry.

I said yesterday that we could be looking at worse than Derby Countys points return for the Mackems next season. But that the prize in modern football, a season of misery. What joy||

Delighted with this result, and aww what a shame for the SheffUre Blunts. 😄
But just like they did against Cov in the Semi's, Sunderland were more than lucky to be honest.
Can we say they and Burnley are relegation fodder already, for next season.

That looks about the size of it Acido. Relegation for those 2, the interesting aspect is who will be the third?

    Ill go Wolves.

I think if Burnley add some fire power up front then they have the best chance of survival out of the 3 promoted clubs. Their defence last season was absolutely sensational with them losing only 2 games, keeping 29 clean sheets and conceding only 16 goals in 46 league games which is freakish. They finished the season unbeaten in 26 games. The foundations are there for them to succeed in the Premier, that's for sure and i hope they do.

Leeds may surprise a few but I don't see them getting the required 30/35 points. Sunderland forget it.

Ive got nowt against Burnsley, but I do think they'll struggle again.
Leeds ought to do better this time, and you might be right about Wolverhampton.
They did what they had to this time, and stayed above 3 really poor teams. Can they do it again.

I thought the Blades were robbed by VAR , surely it cannot be right to play 48 games under one set of rules and then change it for one match , I said it when we played the fowls and nothing has changed my mind , if the second goal had been scored in any of their other 48 games it would have stood , simple as that .
