Anyone's guessing game where George Abbott will be playing next season ?
Quite likely be a London club with Leyton Orient, Charlton , Wimbledon , Bromley , or even Barnet being in North London.
Be very interesting to guess where the other released players will end up too.
Sloc's .....Grimsby or Boston United ??
Cameron ......back to Barrow. ??
Austin ......Chesterfield, Walsall , Burton
Albion , Harrogate Town ??
Whitaker .... Tranmere , Accrington,
Oldham , Morecambe ?
Candy....... National League etc ?
Why do you think Abbott will join a L2 club in London and especially someone like Bromley not known for playing attractive football?
I?d be gobsmacked if he plays in L2 no matter what and don?t see a reason he?ll join a London club when his first move was to Nottingham and plus he?s from Cheltenham.
Hi hope we could get Abbott back on loan for another season if spurs were happy with his progress why not ? Going slightly off tangent to the thread title we need a major investment in players out of the retained list ( unfortunately because they are still contracted to us ) Sanderson, Edwards, Palmer, Hinchy, Morias, and Traore are not good enough for this division. So with the players released and these 6 named loss of Abbott we need at least 10 quality signings especially midfield, and attack. This is assuming we get McGoldrick to sign for another season and keep the remaining good players like JJ. Big task and heavy investment needed to have any chance of top 3 next season. We will see how the Bros respond to this situation which will tell us how progressive they want to be in getting into league one and above. Needs to start with with a Quality Manager in place asap. !!
I'm wondering if Slocombe will go back to Scun.thorpe? Especially as they have been promoted to the National League. He started there and it's not far away so would be like Didzy dropping down a league to come back to his club so to speak and complete the full circle.
Leyton Orient if he goes to League One.
Charlton or QPR if Spurs want him to play in the Championship.
Charlton would be a good move. Generally play football in a good way (although haven't seen them for a while - but one of my mates is a season ticket holder) so would suit Spurs' development plan. Spurs may be able to find some room for him in lesser cup comps as cover for Betancur who has to work double with the defensive set up under (the increasingly deluded) Ange
