    Wilock - off to Fulham

Seen several reports today that say that Wilock is Fulhams main target in the summer.

Fee of ?25 million being reported.

I think that is a good fee for him, he's only got 2 years left on contract and he hasn't come back to the heights he use to reach - possibly due to not playing regularly at the minute.

I'm not sure i'd be trying to sell him but I think I would take that.

If we sold him, we'd replace him is my understanding of our Summer business so I wouldn't necessarily be against this,

I like Willock but I think he's one of those players who needs regular game time to produce his best and he's not going to get a lot of that. I dunno, maybe with the Champions League he will...

If he goes, I'd wish him well but I'd be happy enough for him to stay.

Splinters in me arse on this one. Jammy

    Aye.

It's a tough one to be honest.

If he goes, I want him replaced before that happens.

I agree- its very hard to talk about players leaving without knowing wholl replace them. Miggy and Kellys departure were good but left our squad at the mercy of an injury crisis.
Wilson out, Longstaff out, Dubs out, Targett out?? If they arent replaced with better then none should leave.

I can see him at Fulham. He's reached the end of his career at NUFC. We've evolved beyond him and Longstaff.

It's a fair price for a 25 yr old English player with 157 Premier League appearances.

    He goes with my blessing.

He signed in 2021 for 25m. His 4 5ths of his entire value has amortised over 4 yrs so he's got a ?5 book value.

Which means the 25m fee from Fulham will add 20m to the transfer budget.

Longstaff will also go for around the same money 22-25m. All of that goes in the black column.

So we will have an additional 45-50m in bank to spend, on top of the Miggy 10m Atlanta money, the Kelly 20m (woop woop),

Already in outgoings with should Longy and Joe go that's 80mil.

With the 80m from the UCL group stage that's already 160m plus whatever we've got banked from the Anderson, Minteh cash and all the new sponsorship revenue.

Potentially we're looking at as much as 200-250m in transfer WAR CHEST available this summer.

We're gonna be able to bring in the 5 or 6 top top quality players we need to genuinely compete.

Let's just hope that Mitchell gets this sh!t done.

It is a hard one as he's a good reliable squad player and a useful starter when needed.

I would only feel happy with him moving if the replacement was much superior, and that's the way we should be thinking about any squad member leaving.

That way we build up a real quality squad over a couple of seasons.

Angel Gomes is a far better player, younger and doesn't have the injury issues than Willock.

Gomes is another England international. Has a history winning the U-21 with Tino, Trafford & Gordon.

    He's also free.

I will only feel comfortable if a better replacement has been lined up. Price seems fair though but I like the guy as a squaddie.

When we could rely on him to be fit, that period where he was interchanging with Joelinton. Yes, Since that season he's not be fit enough and when he's been in the game, he's mostly been a passenger.

Today he's been linked with Palace too. Fulham and Palace both interested now. Looks like this one could have legs.

Cash in I say and bring in a Destroyer to compete with Joelinton. An ?derson from Atalanta.

?derson is 40m quid. 8m a year over 5 yrs. We book 25million for Willock going out. Good business massive up grade.

Also I'd take a look at Angle Gomes on a free too.

?derson & Gomes for Longstaff and Willock. That's a frightening midfield 6 with Miley and the holy Trinity.
