    The retained list

    Kelly confirmed to Juve
    Jamaal Lewis released

Wilson and Ruddy in talks over contract extension

    So,
Not likely to see wholesale changes in the goalkeeper department.

Suggests to me they will struggle to find an Isak backup. Let?s face it, he?s our first choice, anyone knows they will be signing as his understudy - being the most selfish position on the pitch might be putting people off 🤔

I said a while back i feared we would offer Wilson a new deal sadly this run in when he has been coming off the bench in most games he has offered very little and will be older next season so needs to be released end of june its no time for sentiment, the only plus is he has been fit for the last few months.

If Wilson gets a pay as you play type deal for a third choice striker who will play only a handful of games then I think this isn't a bad option.

But this doesn't shout an elite move if true.

I think the new contract offer to Wilson is more to do with the long term relationship between EH & CW.

CW has been through hell in his life, his early life was as tough and miserable as possible. The reason EH has such a soft spot for CW is because of his bullet-proof mentality. Despite all the injuries his psychology is unwavering in his determination.

These contract discussions, along with Ruddy point to a more holistic squad approach rather than a lack of options or desperation. The Fulham Striker Muniz has been sounded out an option to compete with Isak as the rotation player.

I don't see us starting next season with just CW & Osula as the options up top competing with Isak.

    I ****ing hope not.

I get why Wilson might be offered one but I don't want him to, to be honest, he adds nothing to us on the pitch anymore really.

No, he has lost something since his last injury. It sad but reality.

It's Eddie's achilles heel-his loyalty to players who shouldn't really be here-?Dummett, Ritchie, Wilson.

It's sad how far Wilson has fallen but we need players off the bench to offer something different and he just doesn't any more.

We actually need someone who we'd actually be happy to start up front instead of Isak. We can't go through next season with one brilliant striker and 2 who offer either very little (currently Osula) or absolutely nothing (currently Wilson).

Aye, when I say a pay as you play deal it would come with the caveat that we sign another striker. My idesl scenario would be Osula as 3, Wilson as 4 and a new striker as a number 2 to challenge Isak.

No fkn way am I advocating that I'd prefer the current starus quo to continue with Osula as 2 and Wilson as 3. I have no problem with Wilson staying though if the wages were less and he was happy to slip down the pecking order.

I maybe badly worded the previous post.

The press have us all in on Joao Pedro as the 2nd striker. Elanga right winger.

They can both play wide and centrally. Pedro better through the middle and Elanga, I don't know where he is best TBH. However, the flexibility to alternate, switch up positions for each attack, both feeling comfortable across the front like is a fascinating tactical option.

We know that Gordon & Barnes capable down the right, not as strong as their preferred left side but can do a job so with the threat of Isak and the dogged work ethic of Murphy that front 6 is pretty Tutti-Fruity!

We have similar rotation in the midfield with Bruno and Tonali switching and moving around the Joelinton sledge hammer pivot.

A decent RCB, replacement for Willock, a mini Joelinton and Trafford.

    We're pretty frightening.

or there could be a curve ball from Eddie: a new formation?
If we sign JP I would expect it.
