Pet Sounds is an absolute masterpiece. Sad news.

Brian was never close with Manson, that was his brother, Dennis (also a talented songwriter - his first solo album is great).

A legend. I saw the Beach Boys live in the USA in the late 90s and, even then, they were superb.

He was a genius. I love the YouTube video of him and George Martin where he allows Martin access to the master tapes of 'God Only Knows' and they tinker with them together....you can see the joy on his face as George creates what Brian thinks is a better mix.

The film Love & Mercy with Paul Dano/John Cusack is also very much worth a watch if you haven't seen it. Gives an insight into a couple stages of his life.

I have always rated Brian Wilson (IMHO) as the greatest musician of all time (GOAT).
He not only wrote some amasing songs but helped to create a whole musical style too.
I was lucky enough to meet him twice......but would love to have heard the Beach Boys singing The Wheelbarrow Song !!

The Barenaked Ladies wrote a great song about him called Brian Wilson which he liked so much he used to sing live in his shows
