Thread: Max Weiss.

    Max Weiss.

News is the Clarets have agreed a ?4.2million deal to sign 21-year-old Karlsruher SC goalkeeper Max Weiss on a four-year contract.

    Undergoing a medical right now.

Are we daft enough or skint enough to have to sell Jimmy?

Looks to me that we are either keeping Trafford or bringing in someone like Pope in a player swap deal with Newcastle, as Weiss won't be ready for the Premier league

We can't afford not to sell him, we are basically running on the TV money, we have to bring in money from transfers as well or we go under. It is what it is.

ALK clearly stated what their business model was going to be after buying the club.Buy young players, develop them and sell them for a healthy profit.Howe has the hots for Trafford and the Saudis have the dosh.He will be gone next week-30-35m I reckon. We need the money.
Also, Traffords stock is high at the moment but after another season of defeats and lots more goals conceded that could change. If Howe offers anywhere near 35m he will be down the road.Another thing is hat is where he wants to be reading between the lines so good luck to the lad.He still has his weanesses despite the hype.Max Weiss will be a good replacement. We have got him at a bargain price. What is not to like?

Business models are the future unfortunately and if we’re making 20 million profit that’s how it has to be.

I still think that his value would have risen after a year with us regardless of conceded goals ( if he played well of course )
I think it’s like Sinkov says balance the books and keep developing players Weiss fits the mould and hopefully he can raise his stock over the next couple of years.

My real worry is if Esteve has to go as well then the spine of the side is removed in one fell swoop and god only knows where that leaves us in what is an ultra competitive league.

I'm a sort of a half full glass type of Burnley fan.

However, I just cannot see a way we won't be back in the Championship again by this time next year.

We have about 15 players currently on the books who are highly adaptable to life in the lower leagues; first job I reckon is to move this lot on, save some wages and bring some money in.

Sambo, Delcroix, Massengo, Obafemi, Hountondji, Dodgson, Costelloe, Mellon for starters and then Foster, Benson, Tresor and Koleosho need sorting one way or the other.

I do not envy Parker's job in the next 6 or 7 weeks.

Sell traff whilst he's the bees knees, he's going to be usurped by Beadle soon.
