    Football and Language

Really interesting talk at my school today - careers talk to year 8.

All about language within sport - was basically trying to show them how having a 2nd language is a good thing etc.

But one of the things it showed was how many of the really top class people involved in football are top class lingustically as well.

    Ronaldo - 6 language.
Mbappe - 6 languages - learnging his 7th, aiming for fluency in 8.
    De Bruyne - 5 langauages.
    Saleh - 4 languages.
    Zlatan - 4 langauges.

    Jose - 5 languages.
    Ancellotti - 5 languages.
    Pep - 4 languages.

    etc. etc.

    Was quite impressive.

The guy giving the talk works for a company that has set up a language app so that coaches can put things in and it produces it in whatever language they want so they can communicate with players appropriately.

I'm doing a dis-service to how good it was with the above but hopefully you get the idea.

Aye, some impressive numbers there, Jammy.

Compare that with Miggy who could still barely speak a word of English after 5 or so years here.

Proud of Gordon being about to speak Both English and the undecipherable language of Scouse. A mystery to normal folks.

Kids can't even speak English these days Jam. Its text spelling and abbreviations.

Bloody scary mate when you see kids in the Congo speaking to interviewers in a fkn jungle war zone in perfect English.
