F*** Sky.
Hate this!
I've got some friends coming over for that weekend and had planned to take them into the lounge for the Bradford game.
Not possible now. Thanks a lot Sky
It really is a xxxxshow. Thursday night is diabolical. Will be less City fans come over too I would imagine.
What can we do to stop this bunch of shysters killing the game we love? We boycott them. That's all we can do. Unsubscribe. Stop going in pubs showing that match that's been hyped for days But will you do it? Ask yourselves seriously, will you? I'd love to see Sky go bust. (Ah yes, but look at the money they've put in. Look at the lovely stadiums they've paid for.) Yes but they've ruined the game we grew up with when small clubs could dream of getting to the top.
Where would most lower league clubs be without the Sky money? I agree its sh1te being messed about but what can the smaller clubs do?
They were there before Sky. I started watching in the mid Sixties. There wasn't a constant financial meltdown in professional football then? So what happened subsequently to change something that seemed quite stable financially? I wish I knew
I'd be more interested to see if the gulf would be as vast without Sky money. Seems like it widens the gap and (along with other nonsense such as the 80-man squads PL teams carry) steadily renders 'smaller' clubs less and less able to grow. The money at the bottom end is trivial in comparison to the top, and Sky's increase in televised games has got to impact car park revenue, food and drink sales, etc. Poor for the atmosphere, bad for local pubs and businesses.
Tiferish In the 1960's mate the Millers were owned by the Pursehouse family, the club was a selling club to balance the books, the club has sold a lot of good players over the years since
Now we don't turn out a player worth big sums of money, so sky money is needed to keep clubs afloat.
You might say we have turned out some decent players, but we have let them run down their contracts, or not got the real worth of a player due to no one on the board having football knowledge in valuations or contracts
