Thread: Carabao Cup..?

  1. #1

    Question Carabao Cup..?

Carabao Cup? Should we give it a proper go or concentrate on the English Premier League, or can we do both?
I'm a bit torn on this one. Your thoughts please.

Good opportunity to give players game time, Broja and Tuanzebe need to play, as does Edwards as Weiss. If we can win the preliminary rounds with a changed team, do so. It will always be a gamble. Should we progress to latter rounds then take more seriously if there is a good chance to win it.

Absolutely agree wmdave. We have a strong squad and should give players who are not currently getting into the team the opportunity to play. Cardiff will be a good game for them and hopefully as you say we can go on to the next round.

You are not usually so sensible my mate. 100% agree though.

Just win the game. Otherwise I’ll get plenty of “ stick” down here. I don’t care if we win 1 nil, or 10-9.
Where will I be tonight ? Have a look at our U21 fixtures.

The Under 21 game in May was a strange affair with Cardiff playing well in patches and scoring first but the Clarets scored two goals in two minutes around the half hour mark and went in at 2-1 up but not comfortable although they almost score a third before half time.
The second half saw Cardiff huff and puff but they didn't score and we ended up scoring twice late on to win comfortably 4-1. I think that that was our last league match of the season and was televised on You Tube from memory.

Enjoy tonight, we are due a win and it would be good to do a home and away double. Otherwise, just wear your tin helmet and ask the Cardiff fans you know where they will be playing on Saturday and tell them that the pies are okay at Wigan but even better at the Etihad.

Just bumped into Andy Farrell ,and half the team ,in our city centre. Looked like they were out for a lunchtime stroll in the welcome sunshine. He recognised me straight away from the last game in May ,when I had my photo taken with him and Jack Cork, at the end of the game ! Made my day.Top guy. Looking forward to tonight?s game. Hope I?ll be able to spot one or two promising stars of the future.

Good to hear. Andy is certainly a Claret legend and doing a good job with the development of players. It certainly is not an easy job but you learn a lot when doing it! Enjoy the game.
