Dub's assessment of him while he was with us pretty much matches my own. True, he did not get too many opportunities considering his price tag but then he never made good on his early promise-though we were not the only club he failed to perform at.
So, at 28 he is now getting plaudits and good luck to him but why he failed to fulfil his early potential for so long and with several clubs is the moot question.
