    Magpies

The way the new management of Notts County apparently approach the game should be ideal for a return to the style of play from the first 4 games. Unfortunately the arch prosecutor of the format is still suspended and I'm not convinced LB knows how to bring it about. We could win this one but I'm inclined to expect a 0-3 humbling.

I often look at Notts County with their huge ground (at this level) and imagine their fans must be completely fed up with all these years at levels below where they probably see their club. However, I think after a poor start (expected with a new manager) they are coming together. They?re the form side today and I quite often fancy them to beat us at the best of times. So I?m going for a convincing win for them at 1-3. Hoping that our two games after this one are easier to mount our turn around.

As a supporter I sincerely hope we return to the pressing game. We are fast approaching a point where each game is a must win. Based on our displays in the last 5 games at the end of the 1st half of the season we will be lucky to have 20 points. I have no confidence in our management and IMO we are a club in crisis.

We certainly did Shrop. All I will say is that I was thoroughly entertained - edge of seat stuff at times and could have gone either way in injury time. Fortunately went ours but an exciting game whichever way it went. Lankester being back is going to make a big difference. Two winnable games coming up in the next two weeks so fingers crossed.

Yes, hands up, I got it wrong. However, we did it with some luck and some excellent last ditch defending. Great to MickeyD back to his best today. Also good to see Lankester back. Quite a selection headache for Bell when Lunt is back. We seem to have an abundance of forwards but not enough midfielders. Still (apart from the paint pot performance against Chesterfield) can't see what the fuss is about with Tezgel.
Really admired Josh March's bravery in taking the pen after missing the last one and with a lot riding on it.
County must be sick of coming to Crewe!
So a positive result and parts of it were good to watch but still no sign of a press. Their defence was allowed too much time and space to bring the ball out.

Our team showed a lot of passion and determination and was an excellent 3 points as they had some very good players on show. Much better than of late and will give LB some breathing space,

Relieved that we won. Not an inspiring win. As the home team we only had roughly 35% possession. Not convincing.

Some points about the game. Golding had a good game. Strong in the tackle and very good in the air. Possibly a better patner for our Captain. Finney and Holicek, young and talented prospects. But at this moment not physically strong enough for League2.

Yes a win, but 4 points from 6 games. That is relegation standard.

Always important to try and find a negative after a good win. Well done. The reality is, Notts County were the better side. Not by much but certainly a bit better. That said, we played very well at times and defended manfully. Golding was excellent as was Mickey D. Finney has not had much first team action so maybe didn't always make the best decisions but looked good enough against a difficult team. Holicek is very good and really is one for now! Notts County will feel aggrieved they came away with nowt and it could be argued we got away with one. But it could also be argued that if ypu don't take your chances you can lose the game. As we have found out at times this season!

Sorry you feel that way Timmy. The intention of the post was to IMO give a realistic view of the game.

Notts county dominated for most of the game and Crewe were lucky to win. County must be Aggrieved that they lost. That was the analysis of the game by the BBC. Are you suggesting that they were looking to present a negative view?

Being aware of your knowledge and keen eye for the game I am confident that you would have noticed that when Finney and Holicek were subbed in the 89th minute from that point Crewe immediately dominated the game and fortunately got the penalty and won the game which I was so pleased about.
