Swansea v QPR Wed 22 Oct 19:45
It?s Monday and us Swans fans can look forward to three home matches, two in the league starting Wednesday. The Hoops are the visitors and typical for us we catch a team on a roll. Although they lost 1-2 at home to Millwall to a set piece (Millwall are the set piece specialists), it was their first defeat in seven matches and they were a tad unlucky looking at the match highlights.
Last home match we lost our unbeaten home record. We didn’t play well and lost 1-3 to draw specialists Leicester, who drew again last Saturday, 1-1 at home to Portsmouth.
On Saturday at Southampton it could have been a massacre goal wise but records will show we gained a creditable 0-0 away draw.
So to Wednesday night’s match and the chance with two home league matches to steer the ship back on course and put points on the board, here’s hoping.

Southampton losing at Bristol City tonight, Leicester losing at Hull, both teams outplayed us recently.
Our next away match is at Charlton, who caused an upset and won 0-3 away win at Ipswich tonight.
All three losers were in the PL last season.

Swansea 0 - QPR 1 (Burrell 18’)
Yalcouye sending off ruined the game as a contest. Swans concede a soft goal and were lethargic in their play once again.
The R’s much more organised and looked the better team, but they marred their performance by falling to ground at the slightest contact.
The big lump of centre-back, the wiley Steve Cook got the diminutive Yalcouye sent off on 34’ but Cook was the instigator after Yalcouye was tackled by Cook in the penalty area. Ref waved play on, no foul he said, but Cook confronted Yalcouye off the ball in an aggressive and in your face manner and appeared to head butt him. Yalcouye retaliated and after consulting the linesman the ref Busby sent him off. I don’t think either player was hurt but Cook collapsed and writhed on the ground, cheating to get Yalcouye sent off.
He succeeded and as an afterthought he was yellow-carded by the inept ref.
Second-half Swansea rallied and did well with ten men, had their biggest chance at the end, Vipotnik missing an open goal as the ball bobbled just before it reached him and missed his outstretched foot by inches.
Fine margins, but no escaping the fact that we are not playing to our potential and that is down to Sheehan and his coaches to rectify.
So, the inquest begins. We are not playing as a team because the tactics and decision making are all wrong.
What has changed on the coaching side from last season’s surge up the table when Sheehan was put in temporary charge?
Main change was Fotheringham out and O’Dea in.
How much influence has O’Dea got in the decision making? He who was schooled at the Brendan Rodgers Academy of Possession football at Celtic, seems very animated and vocal in the dugout and in Sheehan’s ear. Well, wrong advice, it’s not working, sorry.
Alan Sheehan, get back to what you know works because you’ve already done it.
Well boys we’ve definitely regressed so far with this new squad. If that Vipotnik miss had gone in at the end we would be praising the team for getting a point with ten men, fine margins. But I agree it’s worrying times, the points on Saturday are badly needed.
