Newcastle United v Spurs - League Cup - Thread

"Since Frank's taken over they've stopped being Spursy"

The most Spursy comment of all time. Ange-Ball etc etc.

This time of the season they are consistent, winning and the hype grows. It's perfect Spursy behaviour. Look good, flatter to deceive ultimately fall apart & bottle it at the crucial moment.

Focusing on this particular game. Spuds have 10+ player out injured. They've been playing the same team for weeks, much like us 2 seasons ago. It has it's merits in terms of togetherness, however, fatigue, knocks and bruises accumulate. Once again, as we can testify.

I expect to see a rotated team, Midfield should see Ramsey & Miley start again. My guess would be with Tonali, Bruno to come on for Miley in the 2nd half.

Does Osula start? Eddie mentioned his ankle injury. Nick could benefit from a rest... who do you lot recon will start?

Same for the wingers. - Elanga and Barnes to Start? Or do you think Murphy and Gordon will start?

We also have some rotation at CB.

No doubt BDB will start Left Back, no options really.

What about RB? Tripz needs a break. Harrison Ashby gonna get a shot or will it be Krafthacuta?

Tonali makes such s big difference to us - he has to start. Wouldn?t mind seeing Thiaw at RB and Burn in the middle with Schar, plus Kraft.

    It's a dilemma, isn't it.

On the one hand, it's the Cup...OUR cup and I'd like us to put the strongest team possible out to defend it.

But...we're playing differently these days as Eddie tries to juggle our workload (and it's worked-2 wins and a draw after our Champions League games, isn't it?) so that thinking will affect his starting 11 more than it might have done last season, possibly?

I wouldn't mind us riding the crest of the Osula wave to give big Nic a wee break. Ditto Tonali, much as I agree, he should start ideally.

Can't Krafu play LB? Tino and Hall can't come back soon enough, man.

Time for little Joe to make a statement. I hope Spurs have done similar, theyre supposed to have a lot of injuries?

Woltemade is class, man. Created two very good chances with his fantastic touch already.
