This has been discussed on the SW Admin thread with regards them getting 'preferential' treatment due to their club history and why that trumps other clubs like ourselves, Bury etc.?
On the official website there's an article celebrating the fact that yesterday would have been Arthur Wharton's 160th birthday. However, the closing statement made me smile:-
"We at the Club and Community Trust remain dedicated to preserving Arthur's legacy trough education, community and sports."
How ironic to have a typo in a sentence mentioning educationPoddington will be apoplectic.
What would you list amongst the top 10 achievements by our club, not necessarily on the field ones (as we don't have many). The Arthur Wharton story has to be one of the biggest associated with football in the town.
Mark Robin?s saving us from dropping out of the League after Admin points deductions.Playing at the horrible DVS.
Indelibly, and a major factor in the history of RUFC and its survival to this day, Tony Stewart.
Great achievements have been given to the fans due to his tenure and investment, albeit not Premier League levels, nevertheless without him where would we be now?

Stopping Newcastle United winning the FA cup three years running in 1953, there by giving the world the Matthews cup final.
I think the meetings set up by the club for former players who are now suffering dementia needs to be recognised as a very positive achievement by RUFC.
The regular gatherings of past players has been very therapeutic and improved their general wellbeing, just by having a cup of tea and a chat with old team mates about old times.
I understand Sheffield United and other clubs were quick to set up similar group meetings for their ex players after seeing the benefits.
I think it was Breckin who set it up to start with and deserves the credit, but it was still arranged through Rotherham united.
Hard to quantify what "Rotherham United " is,but a club focused on its community would be a good start.
Not interested in being another "Big" ,or even "Massive " club, but a slightly bigger, better version of ourselves would be good .
