    Damning Stat

Just seen this somewhat damning stat for us.

We've dropped 8 points from winning positions so far this season - which could really haunt us at end of the season.

And these 8 points from winning positions is the most in the prem.

Hopefully we're moving past this and will rediscover our clinical side.

    I'm fairly sure it's actually 11, Jammy.

I think you are right Jammy. It's 11 points.

We're on 22 points, Lego head's North London cheats are on 33.

Just shows you the fine margins in the Prem, especially this season 4th - 13th, 10 teams are 6 points, 2 wins apart.

Eddie has proven that his teams are stronger over Christmas and into the back half of the season.

The best evidence is previous results

Eddie's proven track record of getting results and moving the club up the premier league, qualifying for the Champions League 2 out of 4 seasons he's been in charge.

I really don't know what more the guy has to do to get the support of some sections of the fan base? It's clear that some folks haven't got a clue.

I think that Eddie needs to do a couple of things… and it is still a learning process for him, how see it:

Stop trying to defend a narrow 1 goal lead… too many teams have quality to hurt us.

The squad is the best we have had, certainly since the days of 5 subs came along… we have some real depth… and it’s balance of who is on the pitch to see the game out… and for me, it is things like not taking off a midfielder for another centre half.

We saw a great result away to Arsenal where we sat behind a 2-0 lead and saw it out for a long time… thing is that was a bit of a toothless Arsenal the way they were and they could not score for toffee… I think there is a lot of carry over from that.

How unfit is Hall really? Is this another case of when Tonali ‘wasn’t match fit’ last season, and he chose to play Longstaff until he gave Tonali a start about 11 games in against City?

Howe is learning to balance Europe with the Prem, fair enough it’s still a learning experience for him, but there’s been signs of favourite players most have seen and he keeps doing it.

One thing about your qualifying for CL 2 of 4 seasons… we dropped down final positions after the first qualification (obviously the injury nightmare played it’s part), so that’s why I think he needs to learn and learn fast on balancing the competitions out… I’ve said for a long time, and it is still true now, we don’t have the squad to compete in 4 competitions still… will we try and play our best 11 available in all the cups? We’re in the quarters for the League Cup, FA Cup will kick off soon, are we going to spread ourselves too thin or make a conscious decision to focus on 3 (not the FA Cup basically).

Probably no coincidence we won our first trophy with no European football, and let’s be honest, we scrapped into the CL this season by a massive stroke of luck… our form at the end of last season was shocking, losing to a poor Everton who had nothing to play for and bailed out by Man Utd (of all teams) who unexpectedly beat Villa.

It’s not all doom and gloom, and hopefully we’ll finish strong… but if we want to compete in Europe regularly we have to balance the league and European competitions better than we are.
