    MillersMad Match Thread...Millers v Blackpool

I'm not quite sure that I'm fully over the Bolton result to be honest but here we are again with another match to talk about.

Yes folks, less than 3 weeks since our last meeting we're off to Bloomfield Road for our return fixture with Blackpool FC.

    The Manager
    Ian Evatt appointed on 21/10/2025.

    Who to watch
    Ashley Fletcher
Top scorer with 13 goals, 8 of which have come in the league. He scored Blackpool's third goal when we met them earlier this month.

    Last 6
    Blackpool 1 v 0 Doncaster (L1)
    Wigan 0 v 2 Blackpool (L1)
    Blackpool 2 v 2 Lincoln (L1)
    Rotherham 0 v 3 Blackpool (L1)
    Blackpool 4 v 1 Carlisle (FA Cup)
    Harrogate 4 v 2 Blackpool (Vertu)

    Latest Odds
    Blackpool 5/6 Draw 2/1 Millers 13/5

    Recent Meetings
    (10/12/2025)
    Rotherham 0 v 3 Blackpool (L1)

    (5/4/2025)
    Rotherham 2 v 1 Blackpool (L1)
    Odoffin, Rafferty

    (11/2/2025)
    Blackpool 0 v 0 Rotherham (L1)

    Summary
Our next three games won't determine which league we're playing in next season but it does feel like a watershed moment could be just around the corner. Defeat against Blackpool and a poor points haul against Peterborough and Mansfield could well set a trajectory that we find hard to recover from. Not only that but it could leave MH on very thin ice, if he isn't already.

Having said that and despite the run we're on, I genuinely believe that we can get something out of this game. I wasn't hugely impressed with Blackpool when they came to the NYS, we essentially gift-wrapped them three goals in what was an absolute error-fest of an afternoon. Apart from that, we looked better with Reece James returning to the team against Bolton, not to mention the mercurial Sam Nombe. We look so much more of a threat with him on the pitch and Hamshaw ought to start him, rather than wait until we're chasing the game. Hopefully we can get a solid hour out of him this time, if not longer.

So we have three big games coming thick and fast, and it starts now against the Seasiders. Let's hope the outcome is a favourable one for us this time.

    Score prediction, 2-1 to Rotherham.

    Enjoy it everyone. UTM.

Just goes to show that Greavsie was right about it being a funny old game. Seems like just yesterday that we could have been on the edge of the playoffs had we beaten them. 4 defeats later (2 of them abject) and we are in the bottom 4 and staring into the abyss. Like you I hope SN and RJ start and we turn this bus around.

Been a very up and down season so far, with a bit too much down.
Given the overhall this season, a mixed first half is not unexpected ,the manager even said as much, but with all the injuries it's worse than anyone thought.
The last 4 games have been poor, but there was enough in the previous 9 to say we can compete this season, but we need some positive results in the next 3 and some new faces in January.
2 strikers needed, and send back a couple of the loans ,and hang on to our best players.
I might be in a minority, but still think Hamshaw will get it right, and we will end the season in the top half.

Admire your optimism Towner but you’re definitely in the minority ! Only consolation is now Nombe is injured AGAIN he’ll still be our player in February and Stewart won’t be able to sell him.

How the hell has he got injured between the 26th and 29th what does MH and his slavemaster do to these players, this level of injuries has nothing to do with bad luck, it is incompetence and awful facilities.
