    Food for thought

I added up all the goals that we have conceded from 85 minutes to the end of the game, and by my calculation, we have lost 10 points as a result. So if we had not conceded all those late goals, we would be in 8th place. I cant decide if we are an under performing/unlucky top ten team that has a habit of giving up bad goals at very bad times, or a lower table team that isn't good enough to hold on to a win or draw in the last few minutes. Either way, if I were the coach, I might work on that.

We do seem to have a habit of backing off, almost as a game management tactic. I?m sure a number of us watching us repeating this in the dying minutes considered their goal was an inevitability.

With all the game statistical analysis undertaken hopefully our new breed of management style with indeed recognise this flaw and work on remaining on the front foot. Game management is lacking.

Very good points made by both Calgary and Prando. There is an element of bad luck at this moment in time but also there is a problem that needs working on. Trying to defend a lead late on is not the only option of game management. Playing on the front foot in the opponents half is the other.

It may have been Bill Shankly who said.....conceding late goals was not a fitness discipline but a mental discipline to address.
I think it's probably a bit of both to be fair.
