    Spartans (H)

Better start a thread for this! As much as I think we are all pretty despondent right now..we have a good chance of getting a wee bit further than normal in this comp! (although with this team and manager..nothing is guaranteed!)

This is the last chance for the players and manager to actually play with a bit of conviction. If we see boring, safe and trying to grind out a 1 goal win witb the usual formation then I think its fair to say that JG has lost the dressing room and the fans support. Anything short of a comfortable, 3-0 win will probably be the straw that breaks the camels back.

We are, once again, at the "we need a reaction" crossroads..but I think this is the last chance or the size of support that we see at Tannadice this weekend will be the size of support we see for the remainder of the season.

Exact same team as Wednesday for me..put every single one of them back under the microscope! Give them a platform so the fans to see who has the fight to be at this club. No hiding places!

TBH as a season ticket holder I am still as yet undecided, but my heart will probably rule my head and i will get a ticket lastminute.com; there seems to be plenty. And whilst i am disappointed with performances, it is still our club and if we leave in droves, then it does us no good. This is not a plea by the way, as we all have to balance up economic reality and family needs, but i hate shopping anyway!

If I can liken United to your favourite band. You got to a concert excited to see them and play all the old hits, but they then try some new material on you and frankly its crap! United need to start playing some of their older and best tunes from now until the end of the season.

Talking music, i have no idea what the tune is that the team enter the field of play. IMHO, THUNDERSTRUCK by ACDC would sound much better, but rather than THUNDER Nah Nah etc. It would be TERRORS Nah Nah. I'll try and find some rhyming words to make up the rest of the song. You've been TERRORSTRUCK!

    I'll get ma coat!

I was looking forward to it but my enthusiasm has totally evaporated and feels like a bit of a chore now, but I've got my ticket so hopefully it's on. Pitch held up well last week, all things considered, but potential for it to cut up badly with two quick games is worrying.

Ten years on and Mixu returns to Tannadice as Sporting Director of Spartans. Do you need a Sporting Director these days? We've had Asghar. We've got Ross Goodwin as recruitment guy, I heard someone say he is a poor mans Paul Shane.

Could we not go back to employing scouts or even have our manager go and see players in the flesh? I was told that according to social media Tommy McLean went down to scout a player at Bradford FC when he then noticed a far better player, none other than Kjell Olofsson. Old fashioned methods might be old but they could be trusted more than all this statistics and does that evidence shine through on the pitch?

Hoping for a win and 343 phuckin binned. Not good for the blood pressure this turgid sh!te that Goodwin defines as football.

As for the songs after the full-time whistle is it going to be Fatboy Slim "Praise You" or The Smiths "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now"

A difficult match and the cup is our priority now for this season.

Any form of win inside the 90 mins and I will be happy

I can?t see the game being on tomorrow.

However it has to be a win for JG sake. Bought tickets last week but have to say any appetite I had for this game has all but gone.

I have absolutely zero faith in our defence this season regardless of what permutation plays. I was at the game on Wednesday but didn?t fully appreciate how poorly positioned or defence were for the 3rd! Absolute disgrace. Solid line on the 6 yard box about a yard away from the scorer. No challenge whatsoever.

The keeper also didn?t cover himself in glory. Seems to be another one that doesn?t want to come for the ball.

If JG lambasting of the players after Wednesday game doesn?t get a reaction. Then I can only assume he has lost the dressing room. However I don?t think this will be the case.

On the whole we didn?t play to badly on Wednesday, and ironically I would go as far as to say it was one of our better performances, but defensively we are poor and our passing at times lets us down badly.

After (ahem) politely throwing his defence under the bus on more than one platform, it will be interesting to see if Jim gets a reaction or a " fcuk you" response.

Totally understand his anger, but, it's not the first time players (right or wrongly) chucked their manager under the next bus.

Hopefully , they take the kick up the erse well, and go out and show him they do have the desire and attitude for Scottish futba.

I've got my ticket (gemme aff then)

He made it clear he believes in them as players, but, I think he is really questioning their bottle. Upgrades? better players? maybe, but this IS Scotland.
