    Ramsay Out!

Did not see the game but looking at social media it looks like everyone wants Ramsay gone!

It is going to make us look such fools if we get rid so soon but to be honest it was the wrong appointment in the first place. Sean Dyche anyone? We really do need something, as I have said on another post, where is our next win coming from?

To add to this post I feel that I need to say this. I have always believed that I have, in the main, been a level headed supporter and not one for the knee jerk reaction. I have always tried to give all managers support, advocated patience and the opportunity to turn things around. However, at this moment in time I am finding it hard to justify Ramsay continuing to be in charge at the Hawthorns.Yes, I was often critical of Mason?s tenure, and rightly so, but this is now on a different level.

To my mind, and I could be wrong, but the players perform in the same way that I feel. I have said many times before that under Mason we were always in games and with a little more of Lady Luck being on his side we would have gained quite a few more points. However,
under this manager it is totally different. There is absolutely no spark whatsoever and the players appear to be just going through the motions. The match v Blues was the one exception when they all appeared to put a shift in, but that?s about it.

Some may say that these comments are a little unjust but that is my thought process at this moment in time.

Chances of him going, probably nil (As in most of our scorelines), the guy is totally out of his depth, its embarrassing, the awful thing is we'll have to suffer this clown in League One as well

I can honestly Bomber see us getting relegated - I really can! Coventry will no doubt beat us and Oxford have too win but with this clown they will be favourites!

Without yet winning a match he is possibly fortunate to still have his job yet I feel the pressure has been eased by managing to come out of the relegation zone. I suspect if we are thumped by Coventry he will probably be gone and we start all over again.
I fear we will continue to draw/lose matches and slide back into the bottom 3 and be releagted, I just hope not.

We were always losing today. He played several kids and backup players against a nearly first team squad, away from home to the top form side in the league.

We also had no choice in this as the league needs prioritising and we have no defenders. Pep Guardiola couldnt have coached a win.

However we should be questioning if this is the right man to take us forward as he hasnt won a game yet. I would give him until next match where the performance has to be good (not necessarily expecting a win against Coventry). If there are signs that he knows what hes doing then he gets one more game, Charlton at home, which is a must win.

    This thread sounds familiar.

What did a few say a month or so ago about being careful what you wish for.

On the upside, we tried the youngsters, which I sort of wanted to see how they did. However the gulf is obvious perhaps to the coaches and that is why they do not start often.

Tend to agree with that Matt. Not many argued with today's starting line up as it was clear that the priority was to rest our better players for the relegation dog fight and most wanted to see how Whitwell, Bostock and new boy Mustapha would perform. The result, first half performance particularly, only served to highlight the inexperience or lack of game time of some of those on the pitch and the lack of depth and quality in the current squad (not helped by injuries either). That can't be all down to Ramsay and the changes he made second half improved things against a decent Norwich team with more quality up front than ourselves.

The bottom line is that this group of players have demonstrated that, with the right team selection and formation, they can play with desire and battle and that they can be defensively sound. What we haven't been able to do -since before Carlos's time-is create enough going forward and score goals through more clinical finishing and better decision making. That, surely, is down to a lack of quality available as much as it is down to any of the managers we have had recently. Anyone on here think that we do not need a creative midfielder or proven goal scorer for example?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sold on Ramsay either but the last two games have shown improvement (how could they not!) so let's see how the Coventry game goes. Like yourself, I'm not too hopeful of a win but a continued improvement in performance on the back of those against Stoke and Blues is a must as is a draw minimum.

I said on a previous thread a couple of weeks ago that I was torn on Ramsay. He has since moved to a back 4 and its made us look a bit more solid.

The thing is, I do have some sympathy with him. This is not a good squad of players. On the flip side, that 5 at the back was a horrific setup and even more horrific to watch.

The best he can do is set us up to be hard to beat, which has happened in the last couple of league games.

The only real alternative to him is to give it to Morrison. So let's see how the next 2-3 games go. If its a disaster and we lose to Charlton and Oxford then surely there has to be some change somewhere.

The aim this season is to stay up. If we're still in this league at the end of the season and Ramsay is still there then he's done his job.

Recruitment then has to be spot on in the summer for us to be competitive next season. You could have Pep in charge of these players and it wouldn't make much difference.
