An excellent away point for Charlton after Tuesday's Pompey defeat at the Valley.
Both goals were scored in the second half; Ross Stewart scored first for the Saints and Sonny Carey popped up with the equaliser for a well earned point.
The Saints dominated first half possession, Charlton stood firm in defence. Charlton also had chances. Carey shot wide of goal in the 36th minute, Campbell and Luke Chambers also threatened forward but without the end product from teammates.
After Southampton scored in the 2nd half, the Add1cks had one ruled out when Lyndon Dykes shot past the Saints GK ruled out by the Ref for a handball.
Greg Docherty passed to Sonny Carey to set up his equaliser, shooting into the bottom corner for his 8th goal of the season. What a great season for him. Connor Coady, Carey and Dykes all had some half chances to win the game before 10 minutes of stoppage time were added during which time the Add1cks defended manly to secure the point.
