The last time we played Cardiff City at Oakwell we were days away from the country locking down when covid hit us with a vengeance .

Gerhard Struber kept us up on that unforgettable night at Brentford when the season restarted in July but that home defeat to Cardiff before lockdown looked all the world another nail in our relegation coffin .

As you can probably tell I'm struggling to preview tonight's game .

The game started awfully from a Reds point of view with the first 10 minutes being totally dominated by the visitors who then duly took the lead and I sat there thinking that this is going to be an awfully long night which could result in humiliation , how wrong could I have been ? , we gradually started to get a foothold in the game and you visually see the confidence take hold of the reds and we got a very well worked equaliser , suddenly the mood in the ground changed and filtered on to the pitch and we started to get on top , we got to the interval on the up and should have been leading, in the second half Cardiff had most of the ball but the lads worked their socks off and battled for everything and even had the odd opportunity to win it but it ended in a draw which was a fair outcome. It felt like a win , the atmosphere in the ground was fantastic, as the players rallied so did the crowd and we all know that Barnsley fans will always get behind a team that grafts and gives their all , that is all we ever want and we will always support honest endeavour and thats what it was like , I loved it and although we didn"t win my journey home and reflections were nothing but positive , more of the same please Reds , if you show spirit so will the fans !!!
