    Wrexham v Swansea

    Wrexham v Swansea Fri 13 March 20:00
It’s the Welsh ‘Derby’ (in the absence of Cardiff) on Friday night.
Whilst Swans were getting their fifth away win of the season last night at Portsmouth, Wrexham were losing at home for the fifth time this season 1-2 to fourth placed Hull who are outstanding away from home with their tenth win of the season.
Swans will get a boost from that win at Portsmouth and hopefully will put on a good show at the Racecourse. No known injuries at the moment and Matos used his five subs last night to rotate the squad due to the close proximity of the next game.
Wrexham team looked tired last night after their extra time defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup last Saturday but have three days to recover.
The reverse fixture was a 2-1 win for Swansea. Wrexham looked out of sorts in that match too, but rallied to win the next four games. Since playing us they’ve won 9, drawn 2, lost 3 of their 14 matches, which has elevated them presently to sixth spot, the last play of place.
They will be eager to get back on track against us, hopefully we’ll be up for the fight!

    Wrexham 2 (Broadhead 25’ Cullen o.g. 88’) - Swansea 0
Just when you raise your hopes, they come crashing down to earth
Cullen scored once more, pity it was the wrong end as a weak willed Swansea team found they were incapable of creating and scoring goals once again away from home and succumbing to a rare Wrexham breakaway. Broadhead beating Burgess to fire past Vigouroux.
Once they were ahead Wrexham closed the game down and we failed to score.
Two shots on target first-half, zilch second-half was the story.
Pretty possession based football which got us nowhere, faint play-off hopes blown.

Didn?t take our chances in a decent first-half. Awful, clueless second-half, pathetic passing sideways and back as if we were 2-0 up, players going through the motions only.
Wrexham sat back and waited for us to lose the ball.
Blatant penalty not given. When we did get near goal we were afraid to shoot, passing it to the next man like a hot potato until we lost the ball.
Weak substitutes made us worse, there was very little effort from our players in a match billed as a derby. If that is acceptable to Matos we are in trouble.
Key in no man?s land for the first goal, then Burgess too easily beaten by Broadhead. Scramble in the box for second goal, wicked deflection but no one on the line to clear the ball.
Ronald, Nunes, Eom, incapable of decent wing-play - unable to do basics of beating marker and to accurately cross the ball. Clear out needed, mid-table at best with these players

Iolo here. Hugely disappointing result last night, boys. Looked good first-half, didn’t take chances, breakaway and we concede, poor defending once again, with seemingly no answer to it from our coaches.
Second-half we had no idea how to break down a solid defensive wall.
Our wingers ain’t good enough, all flash but no efficiency, creating very little.
Wrexham also wanted it more than us and it showed. We were afraid to shoot when we got near goal. More sideways and backwards possession football, the blight of previous managers, when will they learn that it doesn’t win football matches.
With top of the table Coventry coming up next week maybe our tired players will recover in time and try to be competitive.
