    next season

Ok then, looking a bit further on this is how i think we should prepare for next season. We cant afford another debacle of a close season like the one just gone, with the rat, thats obvious. So, Eddie and the club should get the players together before the season ends, maybe with 3 or 4 games to go, and ask them ALL, just where they stand next season,ie do you want to stay or not? We need to know NOW for sure who we can count on to be here next season, no ifs or buts, if its a yes then the club should tell them they will NOT be transferred at any cost should their agents tout them around, even if they rot in the reserves. ALSO, If anybody wants to go, then they can, but we can get started looking for replacements NOW, not in bloody Sept. Isak really screwed us up, and we cannot allow that to happen again, this will be a test of just how good Ross Wilson really is, and for our sake hed better, and needs to be, very good at his job! Im optimistic that we can hold onto our better players, but if we cant then good riddance imo. This is a bit like what happened during the Joey Barton era when we had a crapp pre season and the senior players read the riot act, whos up for this, whos not, we need the same now imo.

Agree with you on most of that.

We badly need our signings sorted earlier this season - be interesting to see how much leakage is now certain upstairs names have departed. . .

I think most of all we need a settled pre-season.

One thing that was evident was that the upheaval had caused a squad split and the team that was there the season before was very fractured, I would say only now are we seeing it begining to come back.

Sounds like s good plan for the first team squad. For players who do not commit 100%, I would assume they are leaving and think about life without them even if they stay (Tonali might be one, Gordon another, Tino?)
In tandem with this, obviously, are the transfer targets. If our defence and midfield fully commit, I think we are well positioned. Its the attack and GK that are the priorities.
We desperately need a number 1 striker (Wolt, Wissa and Gordon could be back up). Personally, Id like Delap.
Likewise GK: new number 1, Ramsdale backup and sell Pope.
