    Starmer Refuses to Answer

Something not right with this for me and Starmer should fall on his sword for this appointment. Completely embarrassing!

Sir Keir Starmer has avoided saying whether he spoke to Peter Mandelson about his relationship with convicted *** offender Jeffrey Epstein, before picking the peer as the UK's ambassador to the US.
Despite repeated questioning in the Commons from Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, Sir Keir did not confirm if a conversation had taken place, instead apologising for the appointment.

Haven't seen/ heard the clip Al (presumably from PMQT?) but I think we should expect all our politicians, regardless of position, to answer any questions both directly and honestly. Sadly, most-of all stripes-seem to have learnt early on the rhetorical skills of non sequitur, avoidance and deflection.

Actually, I was under the impression-I may be wrong-that when this first blew up, Starmer eventually admitted that he had asked Mandelson about his relationship with Epstein and that he had been lied to. No doubting Starmer's exceptionally poor judgement in appointing him of course ( I mean, who in their right mind would trust Mandelson anyway)

Should he "fall on his sword" though? Certainly, he should simply tell the truth and admit to any failings but if he were to do as you suggest, who would we then get as Labour PM-it could be Rayner! Sometimes, be careful what you wish for!

No fan of Starmer as a PM on the domestic front, but I do believe he is doing the right things on the international one

That?s the problem though Omeg - someone worse like Rayner could come in - a cheat and not the sharpest. Burnham is more left and he has the charm of Blair. Just do not like what Labour stand for!

I do like listening to PMQT and Kemi usually runs rings around Starmer. One bright cookie that girl and growing on many but not easy being the leader of damaged goods.

I can?t see Starmer surviving if Labour have any chance. Labour will get hammered in the May elections. That said I would rather have Labour than the lunatic Greens party!

I can?t not believe Starmer has not frozen the intended increases of fuel duty!! Is that because those on benefits and illegals will not be impacted? Shocking decision on view of what?s going on and prices rocketing!
