    Diakite - Extended Contract

Well deserved in my book and he will be on a fraction of Molumby and Mowatts wage who are both bog standard average at best!

West Brom activate midfielder's contract option to extend stay for another 12 months

Ousmane Diakite has been rewarded for his recent form as Albion activated an option in the midfielder's contract.

He has his faults but I think this is a terrific deal for us. He is improving and has the potential to be very good at this level. I think he has most recently cemented his place in midfield.

Also if we go down, he is surely the best in league one.

Excellent news! As Matt says, he has his faults but seems to improve with every game at the moment.

Now if we could only find the funds to prise Danny Imray away from Palace over the Summer if we manage to stay up 😁

100% agree Omeg as starting to love Imray. I like Diakite because he?s a real battler and getting better.

Diakite recently had his say after putting pen to paper, admitting that "negotiations will continue" with other clubs despite signing a new deal at the Hawthorns.

If this speculation is true then another mercenary looking for a bigger pay cheque! Is there no loyalty in football?

I dont think it’s an issue. I think his wage is not great and the club will want to see him develop before improving the deal.

He might get a club come in for him and pay him more but then we get a transfer fee. It’s win-win.

True! Still think if he said that out of respect to the fans he should keep quiet!
