Newcastle United swoop for ex-Virgin Media chief in key internal appointment

Another addition to the Executive team.

The 100 day review findings were presented to the board and the plan going forwards was passed by unanimous vote.

People that spout all the negative nonsense regarding no plan, losing interest and all that guff need to learn a little patience, I guess.

Seems to know his stuff and a communication person to link all up internally can only be a good thing.

Seems to me to be totally in keeping that the PIF are steadily progressing their project

Lets be honest there have been some real f*ck ups with executive appointments at the club since PIF took over most notably Ashworth and Mitchel. Its good to see heavyweight appointments but Ill hold the celebrations till they start producing positive results.

Ashworth was a good appointment the bit where he F'd off to the filth due to the carrot of ultimate power dangled and taken away. Poor fella.

Had the man stayed in place through this last 4 yrs I have no doubt that we'd be a lot further along in terms of structure and progress.

I was not impress or overwhelmed by his work whilst at the club, however, in his remove the vacuum left has an organisation stumbling from one PR embarrassment to the next.

    However, Eales, hopeless. Mitchell, damaging.

I do concur with your comment regarding heavyweight appointments. More of the same please.

We need some commercial killers serious players in the commercial partnership industry. I'm hopeful that Hopkinson's recent travels to the US and across Europe are directly linked to future sponsorship and commercial partnership deals.

I mustve missed the bit where Ashworth did a good job at Newcastle. He did a good job at Brighton but (apart from talking about wheels and spokes) did nothing for us.
He appears to be in it for himself 100% as shown by the way he left (remember the emails?) and is all talk but little action. His ?qualities? were shown up again at ManU.

Mitchell arrived, rocked the boat, did nothing positive and then f*cked off just before the window. Just great.

Eddie Howe spoke about the positive impact Ashworth had on the club and that his work in the background setting up the structures of the club are still in place today.

Yeah the rest is disrespectful and I was as angry as anyone with his defection to the filth. However, he was clearly promised the keys to the kingdom of filth down at the swamp. That quickly went south when Berrada started swinging his micro ***** about.

    Water under the bridge.
