The players might still be on side with him personally but tactically and mentally they look lost.

Or at least parts of it.
For the last 20 minutes of the game today, Eddie was screaming instructions and being ignored by the players.
Now I don't know if we needed a leader on - Tripps, Burn or Bruno to get those through but it wasn't a good look.
I've said this before but I think we have so severely underestimated the damage done by Isak debacle to the whole squad. I think it was so much more riven than we realised and I actually think that has eaten away at Eddie who clearly likes have a squad togetherness that pulls in the same way.
The players might still be on side with him personally but tactically and mentally they look lost.
Can any Newcastle fan actually disagree with this ?

I came on to ask exactly the same question, Jammy.
I think he has. He's said on more than one occasion that he doesn't tell the team to sit on a lead but that's exacyly what they do.
Eddie has made a lot of mistakes but I think the players have let him down massively-ignoring his instructions, idling around the pitch, daydreaming, not keeping focus and concentration,
Honestly, beyond Hall and Bruno, I couldn't give a shit if any of the others leave.
I said it not long ago, and I still think we saw a sign of it when Bruno said the performance away to mackems was a mess, and how quickly refuted that in his interview soon after.
Was that an early sign that players have been unhappy with whats happening behind the scenes?
Easy to put interpretations like that on events I know, but when you consider how some players seem to be sidelined (Wissa and Woltemade) when others like Elantra (despite his Barca brace his output is still pitiful) and Gordon (played time and time again in the middle, while actual strikers are sidelined, and the most recent start of Osula ahead of them) have been persisted with.
Drop in form from Sandro and Joelinton.
Again, easy to infer, but its not unreasonable to think that Eddies persistence with tactics and selections that have resulted in same defeats and late goals, might not have gone down well with a number of players?
Aye, the players can't be happy with what's going on and, no matter how much they love/admire/respect him as a boss/coach/father figure for what he's done, there's bound to come a point where, professionally, they'll be thinking 'hang on...'
I'd imagine Ramsey will be looking back at this season and wishing he'd stayed at Villa. He's been our best midfielder lately so dropping him was harsh, especially with how shite Joelinton has been recently.
The other new lads, Wissa, Woltermade and Elanga will all, to varying degrees, be seeing Eddie in a more negative light than the players who've been here a while and that's bound to create a divide in the dressing room.
