    Club Update Statement

In case people haven't seen this:

Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign and the subsequent ending of Lee Clark?s short-term contract as first team manager, the club are keen to provide clarity to supporters regarding our immediate ?next steps? as we head into an important summer.

We share our supporters? desire to ensure that any and all key decisions related to football matters are concluded at the earliest possible opportunity to give players and staff the best opportunity to prepare for the upcoming campaign.

With that in mind, we can confirm that decisions have now been made on the immediate futures of our first team squad in respect of our Retained List ? which is required by the EFL to be formally submitted by the third Saturday in May ? and it has now been published on our official website in conjunction with this update.

Those outcomes have been reached following numerous internal discussions and the careful consideration of a number of staff throughout the club and also account for the assessments made and feedback provided by Lee Clark.

The club can also clarify that, alongside ongoing talks regarding the vacant first team manager?s position, it is also currently in the process of reviewing football operations and the infrastructure that supports it.

We are fully-respectful of the fact that our supporters will want to have a clear image in their minds of what next season looks like, before committing their backing for the 2026/27 campaign and news on our Season Ticket launch will be delayed until an update has been issued on our first team manager?s position.

In the same vein, we can confirm that our 2026/27 hummel kit release has been completed and its reveal is set to take place next week.

Once again, you have our assurance that making appointments to the aforementioned positions and communicating other club news in a timely fashion in the coming days is at the forefront of our priorities.

The club has issued this statement in an attempt to maintain as much transparency as a developing situation allows.

So glad the club mentioned the following in their statement.

"In the same vein, we can confirm that our 2026/27 hummel kit release has been completed and its reveal is set to take place next week."

    Can't wait for that one.
Season ticket sales pitch will be next.

    Swiss? Fast becoming a swizz.

    Show us the money!!

Well I didn't write the statement Lol but I agree that bit could have been included.
    Mustn't criticise TS though.......☹️

I am distinctly cheesed off with what is happening. All of us on here are slowly chipping in with all the various correct but obvious points it has to be said. However, it is what it is and we all know too well.

The bit about the new kit, in a club statement. The ST situation. We are being taken yet again for mugs. What Clark said about they all know it is urgent, yet Stewart goes off on a cruise, paid for without a doubt by we mugs.

Whoever has put this “statement” out, it will be by douglas with the egoistical one’s blessing. You can just hear it, “put something out that we know we need to do X and it is in hand.

Fact is this, 3 years of mismanagement has come to this, but they could be handling it better. An investment, no doubt will flounder, just like what stewart wanted to do with millmoor, floundered with booth, with what the council wanted to do with chrimes’ building floundered. Common denominator is stewart for everything.

They say nothing can be done till a manger is appointed, that cannot happen till the ship docks back in. The released and retained list etc actually sorts itself out - it didn’t need a genius and whatever clark said must have been close to it, if not exactly.

This is going to go badly wrong. It is just a case of details.

So you're saying we didn't stay at Millmoor because we wouldn't cow tow to Booth, and somehow it's Tony Stewart's fault that Guest and Chrimes is still undeveloped ?
How about the Iran war,is that his fault as well ?

What do we see as an acceptable date/timeline for the appointment of a manager in order to allow time to build sufficiently for next season? York have made their first signing - a lad from Barnet - already

I'm distinctly cheesed off with your latest tedious ramble.

We've wanted a club statement, we get one, and you whinge about it. There's even a little whinge on here about who wrote it! TS has gone on holiday with OUR money. How dare he! Clearly not the best timing but it's 2026 not 1926 or whenever it was you were born. We have things called phones, emails and Zoom these days, notwithstanding the fact that TS has essentially handed the reins to his son.

    Whinge whinge whinge.

By the way, I heard Doris the tea lady gave the players Lancashire tea instead of Yorkshire tea when we played Bolton. Unbelievable! I don't know where we go from here, it's one thing after another at this football club.
