Looked like he headed the ball to me. Anyway, a penalty should not have been given as it was 100% not a clear and obvious error. I thought that the Arsenal v. West Ham outcome was correct but certainly not this one.

Had Celtic not won last night the title was more or less with Hearts and Derek. That penalty decision deep into injury time was wrong and he headed it even though ref checked with VAR. Decisions like this and recents ones at West Ham and Spurs are the difference between a seasons slog.
Wrong decision in my view!

I'd have felt very hard done by if that penalty were given against the Albion. On the other hand so to speak I'd have been delighted if it were given in our favour. I've seen penalty claims similar to that given both for and against us and also other teams over the years. Some with the assistance of VAR and some without. Simple solution. Let both teams fight it out in the centre circle with baseball bats to decide the outcome......... and to see who gets to sort the ref at the final whistle of course.
Slightly odd position of the hand so was it natural. That said I do not think it was deliberate. Very harsh decision in my view. So I find myself in agreement with you on this one Al.![]()
If I were in charge of the referees, I would stop the penalties for accidental handball when they gain no real advantage from it. Celtic werent close to scoring, and to give a near certain goal for that indiscretion is wrong IMO.
The unnatural hand position rule has got to go. You jump with your arms in the air and we dont always have our hands at our sides.
