    Next Season Squad: Right Back

From my POV a tricky one this. Johnston was clearly brought in to occupy that position but there have been three areas of doubt that have crept in: 1) Johnston's injury, possibly resolved but see 2). 2) Johnston's failure to especially impress since returning, OK he's had limited game time, may not be 100% fit and some of it out of position but he's not really looked anything better than ordinary and 3) the form, at least from an attacking POV, of the resurgent Ward.

So, based on what we've seen, and its a bit non-progressive again,

Want: Ward unless/until he fades or is sold
    Expect: Johnston
In reserve: Ward if he stays, Nayambe if he stays, one or two new fellahs if one or both depart

    Hmm...

    Anyone?

Well given Elder’s departure you seem to have been the most correct as regards LB and I have to agree with you here, whoever proves most worthy of a start out of Ward, Nyambe and Johnston. Hopefully the latter comes good because Ward, although very good going forward, can be a defensive liability and Nyambe, although the most powerful and versatile, seems more than a little injury prone.

Taken from his Wiki feed... Nyambe made 19 appearances during his loan spell at Reading with the prospect of another spell at Reading described as "unlikely" at the end of the season.

As he was only there from January 21st, it seems he was injury free in his time there without making that much of an impression
