Just saw a piece on Sky News about the ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia being lifted. The Sky reporter was being driven around by a Saudi lady and was talking about how great it was and the "historical significance" of the event. Its hardly the Berlin Wall coming down ffs! I may be being a wee bit controversial here but there was no mention in the piece of how these countries supress their women folk in various ways to the point that them now being allowed to drive is made such a big deal. I feel news agencies like Sky don't want the controversy of highlighting some of these issues though.
