    What's Charlie done now?
It's the pesky Chinese again. Not happy with fighting Russia, we're looking for a square go with China now.

Rishi made a crude comment along the lines of the shared blood lost by our nations standing side by side in previous wars.

Record defence spending announces Rishi. No it's not say Labour, who claim with some sort of pride that they were the last party to spend 2.5% of GBP on defence.

Meanwhile back in the real world....

    • One of the major benefits of independence will be not having to pretend we're masters of the world.
It's an expensive club to belong to.

Anyway, it was Charlie Harper I was referring to.

That's when I gave up watching telly.
From memory, Bush and Powell ordered the initial attacks on 19 March 2003 on specific targets where they understood that Saddam and his loons were holed up. The following evening on Union Street, there was mayhem on the Stop The War protest. Dozens occupying the crossroads at Market St/Union St (toonser drivers dinna give a fuuck about box junctions in any case), feds panicking, one of my pals flung into the back of a black maria, from which he escaped because the thin blue line forgot to lock the door or put a copper on it.

The STW protest in Glasgow in February remains the biggest demo I’ve ever been on.

        And we were right.

I was thinking of the UK Subs when I saw the headline too.

        • I always remember it because it was the same night New Order played the Barras.

I was also on the demo in Glasgow. Quite encouraging at the time but I’m the end, nobody gave a f*ck

I walked along side you and Vintage that day. Bus down from Aberdeen. Blair and the Iraq Invasion fully confirmed my commitment to Scottish Independence.

            • I mind the stop the war marches in Aberdeen.
The guy I worked beside walked out to go and take part in it and lost his job.

That damn war is responsible for a lot of issues that we have today and still thon cu nt Blair walks free and untouchable

              • My God we all agree, and we would have all agreed 20 years ago AND been proved correct.

The lies were so blatant that I had a choice whether to stop watching TV or spontaneously combust.

If the Yanks really thought Saddam was armed they would never have sent their troops in.

                F'uckin w'ankers.

Even Claire Short let us down.
They murdered Robin Cook, I had no time for him normally but his commons speech against the invasion was magnificent.

                  • I also think Robin Cooks untimely passing was seriously dodgy.

Going to put the tinfoil hat on here and just say I wouldn’t be surprised if John Smiths wasn’t above board either. Those c*nts were capable of anything

John Smith - Scotland's greatest ever politician and best PM we never had?

My profile pic is the placard I carried on the Aberdeen march.

The college photocopier was on overtime in the run-up to that.

I made a “Blues harp players say NO” one, and several proclaiming “BLIAR!” months before it was ‘monetised’ as a t-shirt slogan.

The question that the war-dogs couldn’t answer when the UN weapons inspectors were in the country was, “How can you show proof of not owning something?”

Just a couple of years ago there was some sort of poll asking which British scientific hero should be celebrated on some banknote or other. My suggestion of Dr David Kelly was ignored. It’ll be twenty years ago in July that he was rubbed out.

Found in a tent with a small pen knife wound to his wrist, and a blister pack of paracetamol by his side. And his anal sphincter forcibly stuffed with ársenic (see what I did there?). Probably.

Still, I'm sure the powers that be looked into it properly.

No tinfoil hat needed, The State is perfectly capable. Are you aware of the case of Willie McRae back in 1985 ?
