Cock, balls etc.

Remind me of the final lines of Animal Farm?

Oh Am in a 100% agreement about these careerists how do feck all of what they are elected to do, a couple who spring to mind being Peter Wishart comfy slipper they call him. and that half-wit Kevin Stewart they are quite simply a pair O fvcking thieves. But mind u hasn't it always been like this ? I think back to the Labour party who ruled Scotland a few years back never has there such been a collective sense of entitlement ! Me personally I long for our Independence but I'm so disillusioned by the careerists we (me) elected to win it for us.

      As Brian McNeill say's

'Cause there's no gods and there's precious few heroes
But there's plenty on the dole in the land o' the leal
And it's time now to sweep the future clear
Of the lies of a past that we know was never real

I was listening to the news the other day
I heard a fat politician who had the cheek to say
He was proud to be Scottish, by the way
With the glories of our past to remember
Here's tae us, wha's like us, listen to the cry
No surrender to the truth, and here's the reason why
The pride and the glory's just another bloody lie
They use to keep us all in line

So to hell with the heather and the glen
They cleared us off once, and they'll do it all again
'Cause they still prefer sheep to thinking men
Ah but men that think like sheep are even better
There's nothing much to choose between the old laird and the new
They still don't give a damn for the likes of me and you
Just mind you pay your rent to the factor when it's due
And mind your bloody manners when you pay

And tell me, will we never hear the end
Of poor bloody Charlie and Culloden yet again
Though he ran like a rabbit doon the glen
Leaving better folk than him to be butchered
Or are you sitting in your council house, thinking o' your clan
Waiting for the Jacobites to come and free the land
Try going doon the broo wi' a claymore in your hand
And count all the princes in the queue

So don't talk to me of Scotland the Brave
'Cause if we don't fight soon there'll be nothing left to save
Or would you rather stand and watch them dig your grave
While you wait for the Tartan Messiah
He'll lead us to the Promised Land wi' laughter in his eye
We'll all live off the oil and the whisky, by and by
Free heavy beer, pie suppers in the sky
Will we never hae the sense to learn

      Final chorus:
Ah, there's no gods and there's precious few heroes
But there's plenty on the dole in the land o' the leal
And I'm damn sure that there's plenty live in fear
Of the day we stand together with our shoulders to the wheel

      Ay, there's no gods!

      • Back in the day before Sheridan’s ego literally fûcked up the noble cause that was the SSP, we compiled a copyright-ignoring CD as a fundraising extra at a couple of benefits we played. No Gods and Precious Few Heroes was one of the first picks, along with Blind Alfred Reed’s How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live. The latter, by coincidence, is covered very well by JD Simo on his new live-in-the-studio album, my review of which was filed with the editor less than 24 hours ago.

“Progressives”, attempting to wear the clothes of Proper Mannies’ radicals should be exposed, scorned and metaphorically tarred and feathered. Wänkers like Angus Robertson and Stewart Hosie are poor thinkers, camouflaging their lack of principles and political intellect with transparent bluster, and drone-appealing clichéd grievance-based statements, whilst filling their own wallets and pension funds.

It’s quite depressing to think of where the SSP were, to where they are now, all because him & Billy Davies wanted to hang out either end of the same woman

I get the emails every month but I can’t see any way back

The most galling thing was that it was purely down to ego, and that saw him trash the reputation of loyal friends like Katrine Troll, without a hint of reciprocal loyalty. He had even admitted the truth to the SSP, and then had the gall to go to court, lie, and after calling his comrades “scabs”, blamed the whole thing on women like Carolyn Leckie and “a feminist coup”. I was once advised “beware charisma”, and have observed that warning ever since.

            • This is a f*cking tragic admission but I keep a copy of ‘Imagine’ handy in work. You can tell the bits Tommy wrote as they’re practically in crayon but it did change my political outlook on life. It reminds me of a more optimistic time.

Yup Sheridans ego did **** up the SSP. But others in the SSP leadership played their part also, You can't side with the one of the most reactionary, savagely anti-union media organisations in the world as the likes of McCombe Leckie, and Kane did and keep thee respect of the SSP rank and file. Its always the same unfortunately with Left-wing groups unless their fighting like ferrets in a sack their not happy. Sheridan was a liar and a charlatan but he should have been removed from the party and left to fight his ego driven court case on his own. Instead the SSP leadership went on some kamakazi fight. Of course I have no insights into what went on these are just observations. but the ALL managed to fvck it up.

                • They weren’t on their side, they just weren’t on Sheridans. Did McComes not go to jail for contempt of court?

As I said Mason I don't know a huge amount about this. Its just a shame a breath of fresh air on the Scottish political front was wiped out. You probably know a lot more than me on the rise and fall of the SSP. As a youngster I joined the International Marxist Group never really got involved but do remember the weekly meetings.. high brow ideological fights. Not to mention the dog-fights between us and the local SWP group. Just seems to me unless their involved in a scrap between each other yer average Left wing group are unfulfilled.

                    • What did you expect them to do? Lie in court after the dick had admitted to the party that the accusations against him were true, yet still pursued a defamation case against Murdoch’s lot? Why would people perjure themselves in court (as Sheridan was later proven to have done, the arrogant wânker) when they knew that he was lying? And then calling them scabs? The worst insult that a socialist can suffer. That finished the SSP, and socialist representation in Holyrood. Now we have “progressives”. Be still my beating heart.

I'd have thought damage limitation to the party. Don't get me wrong Sheridan was the catalyst for the demise of the SSP. I don't know but I suspect the tensions were there long before the NoW story broke. Passing on "covert videos to the NoW of Sheridan confessing are not the actions of a committed socialist rather a huge personal struggle going on to remove Sheridan at any cost. And that cost was paid big time,

                        • Rather than removing Sheridan, members were trying to stop the SSP becoming a single personality cult.

When he admitted to the SSP that the NoW had got it right, he was unable to leave it at that. That meant that all the allegations had to be examined in court and individuals involved were going to have their personal lives exposed to the public, and their reputations trashed, including that of one of the leading members of the Aberdeen Stop the War coalition. That was sickening.

You cannot condone lying in court, nor Sheridan’s betrayal of SSP members to whom he had confessed and who he eventually turned against by lying to try to save his own skin.

I see that he’s now in Alba with the other sèx pest creepy cûnts.

                          • The SSP was the nearest I ever got to joining a political party. I went to a meeting with a view to joining, as I sort of knew one of the Aberdeen party members, might even have been the leader up here, Scott Sutherland (I'm sure that was his name)
Came away from the meeting very disillusioned. I mind I was asked by someone why I had never bought my council house, which I was very opposed against and still am.
Hadn't realised Sheridan had joined Alba, but I suppose it fits.

Scott is still active on the left, and is a Dons fan too. I bump into him infrequently in town. I haven’t been a member of any political party since the only one I ever joined folded the weekend the Dons won the league in 1980. Nothing tempts me.

I thought he was a hun! Memory playing tricks on me.
When I knew him he was going through Uni trying to become a social worker. We had loons at school together too.
