Well theres a surprise, the usual defeat at Tynecastle.Originally posted by Redrab1903 View PostOnly the first game of the season, but we look way of the pace Hearts are 2 steps in front in every sense.
Could be a long season if we don?t sign a striker.
Said all week I thought we were undercooked - how 3 pre season friendlies with all those new players can be seen as enough to get ready to go there is absolutely beyond me.
All the same old weaknesses & frailties are still there for all to see as well, thats the most disappointing thing.
Defensively frail, we lose way too many headers at the back, and its yet another poor goal conceded from a set piece into the box.
Its exactly the same players back there as last year mind, so hardly a surprise, but if you cant improve them, you need to change them as we are going nowhere fast conceding cheap goals constantly like that.
Milanovic was good and looks a player. Clarkson had some nice deliveries into the box and Aouchiche had a few nice moments, but it was nowhere near enough to make up for the deficiencies.
Keskinen utterly anonymous and Yengi, deary me.
We also remain utterly incapable of keeping the ball and just give it away constantly. Again, we are going nowhere until that improves drastically.
OH, AND GO AND SIGN A PROPER FECKIN STRIKER THIS WEEK FFS. 😡Last edited by The_Moog; 04-08-2025, 09:20 PM.

I wasnt the slightest bit surprised that we lost tonight, we never win down there.
Ridiculous decision to only play 3 friendlies in preseason, especially since Hearts were playing in the league cup.
Keskinen seriously needs a kick up the arse, maybe he will get going if somebody does because he was hiding again tonight.
First impressions of Yengi dont look good. Worrying that he is on a 3 year deal.
The squad is weaker than it was last season when we won 5 games in 27 or whatever it was, maybe the board forgot about that run after winning the Scottish Cup.
Time for Dave to get his cheque book out, maybe break the transfer record for a quality striker and put his money where his mouth is.

Our number 7 who I will name Ohsh!t is a terrible signing. Him and Yengi are just football imposters.
Dave Cormack better get his minions spending his money and tool up this totally imbalanced squad. We don?t have the quality of players for the system and style Thelin continues to go with.
Keskinen isn?t a good player either and Morris is miles better even though he is a bit hit or miss.
That was a very very weak Aberdeen team tonight. Very like the Ipswich game. 2 matches I have seen us playing with this squad of players and definitely a major problem with them and that set up. We are powderpuff all over the pitch and rely too heavily on luck.

well well well.Originally posted by blowupsheep View PostUntil such time as we get a real number 9 striker / goal scorer onboard then I can see numerous scorelines reading Aberdeen nil.
Would take a 0-0 for this one right now.
Hope we dont fk around much longer before signing a striker that is badly needed.
There is really not a lot to say about that shower of cr@p.
And sadly I think we have all now seen enough to know that with what we have then more often than not our scoreline is going to read Aberdeen nil
Yengi is worse than a man short but yet we have given him the number 9 shirt, here's hoping he is just keeping it warm until we get a real striker into the building.
Guess there is a reason his scoring record is utter b0ll0x and never scored a single goal at all last season why oh fkn why have we taken him on board.
The french boy Aouchiche disna look to be of any use either, but will give him a few more minutes of game time before totally slating him and writing him off.
All in all a very poor start to our new season but one which is not at all surprising given our p1ss poor record down there anyway, but fk me we didna really give ourselves much of a chance by going there without a real striker in the first palce.
Things can only can get better (but not with this current lot)
Cmon to fk Cormack and Jimmy sort this pesh outLast edited by blowupsheep; 05-08-2025, 04:48 AM.

Qualifying for the League Cup group stages seems to have helped Hearts
We need a striker but the bigger worry for me is the way we gift wrap goals to the opposition. Can we not just set up the way we did in the cup final? That seemed to work better

It?s been mentioned already but it seems to me that we dont have the players that are suited to the system Thelin wants to play.
We dont have any fullbacks that are good enough to be able to support the attack for 90 minutes and will also be able to defend.
Guys like Clarkson and Palaversa are fine in midfield when we are controlling a game but are not suited to games like last night when they are put under pressure.
As Mason said the set up we had in the final seems to suit the players we have in the squad.
If Thelin wants to stick to his system then the board are going to have to get him players that can play in it or Thelins going to have to change the way he sets us up.

Very disappointing but not surprising.
We weren?t really at the races and Hearts looked like a team with several competitive fixtures under their belt
defensively we looked weak. Shinnie kept getting caught out of position and putting Knoester under pressure. Milne looked nervous and made a few errors. And we just failed with second balls and to clear the box properly.
Yengi clearly under performed as did Keskinen. Particularly when contrasted with Milanovic, who I thought did well. I actually thought Auochiche looked good, albeit not yet on the same wavelength as his team mates yet (reminded me a bit of the passes James Madison used to try).
All in all very disappointing. I think we have goal chances in us, but we need someone to take them. I think we?ll do better against the stuffy teams than last year. But we need to sort out the defence and I?m really not sure Shinnie can continue at left back unless he shows more discipline.
As for RedTV, the new commentator kept saying Hearts when he meant Aberdeen, and using the phrase ?standing over the ball? when we were taking throw ins. Eccentric. And they were purring about Shinnie without seeing what he was doing to our defensive shape.
More recruits please, especially a striker or two.
