defensively we looked weak. Shinnie kept getting caught out of position and putting Knoester under pressure. Milne looked nervous and made a few errors. And we just failed with second balls and to clear the box properly.

Yengi clearly under performed as did Keskinen. Particularly when contrasted with Milanovic, who I thought did well. I actually thought Auochiche looked good, albeit not yet on the same wavelength as his team mates yet (reminded me a bit of the passes James Madison used to try).

All in all very disappointing. I think we have goal chances in us, but we need someone to take them. I think we?ll do better against the stuffy teams than last year. But we need to sort out the defence and I?m really not sure Shinnie can continue at left back unless he shows more discipline.

As for RedTV, the new commentator kept saying Hearts when he meant Aberdeen, and using the phrase ?standing over the ball? when we were taking throw ins. Eccentric. And they were purring about Shinnie without seeing what he was doing to our defensive shape.

More recruits please, especially a striker or two.
I agree that Shinnie shouldnt be playing left back, particularly against better opposition but I think it?s what Thelin is asking our fullbacks to do.

We were having the same issues with Devlin and McKenzie last season where they were being caught out of position and it was putting our centre backs under pressure.

I dont think we have full backs or centre backs that are good enough for us to play that way, if he wants the fullbacks to be so attack minded then we would have to play 3 at the back with the central defenders we have.
