Actually think this would be a good appointment.......if they had made it at the end of last season! Worth remembering club football management and national management are like chalk and cheese. He did make some inspired signings for a pretty honking Scumdee Utd team. Obviously tempered somewhat with the revelation that he thought Gary Kenneth was a football player - and an international one at that - as opposed to a wondering circus freak picked up from a local caravan park.

Problem for Hearts is he hasn't had the benefit of a transfer window to get rid of some of the foreign dross Cathro brought in.

Sad that they had so many promising youngsters and as soon as they were looking like promotion material they started signing hunners (no pun intended) of non-Scots. A bit like the other paragon of hunnishness that provides their inspiration.
