It is speculating, but based on the facts that there are people I know that stay away as they don't like Pittodrie.Originally posted by Pacman1903 View PostYou talk about speculation of attracting fewer fans then straight away "Certainly have a better chance of attracting new fans with better facilities". Is that not you speculating
It can be a very cold damp place to watch a midweek winter game.
Hence my speculation about "new" fans.
Do you deny there will not at least be an initial interest in going to a new stadium?
Whats important is making sure there is enough to keep them going.

I fully agree.Originally posted by notinmyname View PostI was talking about rangers tho - maybe the old debt wasn't structured well enough - but rangers debt is just to keep the show on the road. yes I do believe there is a difference.... I'm quite happy paying off my mortgage but running up a massive overdraft by going out every night is different...
Some people would rather rent though and blow the budget every month / year.
Maybe its a generation thing.

They don't go because they don't like Pittodrie as I its cold and damp in midweek in winterOriginally posted by afc1903mad View PostIt is speculating, but based on the facts that there are people I know that stay away as they don't like Pittodrie.

My question to them is, why the f@ck did they choose to "support" (and I use that word loosely) the Dons? Im sure they were all born after Pittodrie was opened. How can that be an excuse as its a stadium right next to the f@cking North Sea . What the f@ck do did they really expect. I wasn't there back then but im f@cking positive it always been a cold and damp place, midweek in winter. If that's their attitude we are better off without them
Do they expect the weather to turn tropical at the other end of the Lang Stracht.

It's the "footballs better on the TV" generation.
I remember a fairly recent cup game at Ayr United, there are two blokes standing outside the bogs looking lost.
One says to the other " but where do we wash our hands"
Hope his Mummy didn't find out.

In the two consecutive bad winters we had in NE Scotland (2009 and 2010, I think), Westhill was one of the places worst affected by snowfall, accumulations and hard-packed ice on pavements.Originally posted by Pacman1903 View PostThey don't go because they don't like Pittodrie as I its cold and damp in midweek in winter

What utter trot ! Do people honestly believe there is a couple of thousand dons fans who would be regulars at pittodrie but don’t go because of well .....Pittodrie ?? What utter gash....we will get the novelty factor for a couple of seasons ...Originally posted by afc1903mad View PostIt is speculating, but based on the facts that there are people I know that stay away as they don't like Pittodrie.

You say its trot and then agree with it at the end by saying we will get a novelty factor, thus attracting new supporters.Originally posted by mastrick1960 View PostWhat utter trot ! The challange as I said before is to entice them to keep going.

What if that challenge fails, which in all likelihood it will? How will that affect the happy mortgage payments, the playing squad etc?
We had players in our squad like Mike, Billio, Fabiano, McFarlane, Byrne etc because we were skint. Have you forgotten those years?

Should this nae be moved to "Breaking News - New Stadium etc"? You're interrupting the p!sstaking of the huns.Originally posted by Mason89 View PostWhat if that challenge fails, which in all likelihood it will? How will that affect the happy mortgage payments, the playing squad etc?

This novelty factor could well last one game. Maybe a month or two.Originally posted by afc1903mad View PostYou say its trot and then agree with it at the end by saying we will get a novelty factor, thus attracting new supporters.

The sudden realisation of no transport when you want it from where you want it and no pubs or restaurants would quickly extinguish the novelty factor. I'm still disbelieving of how little the wider support going along with it has thought it through.
Do you think if we had the same transport and pub arrangements, i.e. none, at Pittodrie that we'd get the same attendance?

I'm very confident that humans can adapt and businesses will too.
There are options now and If / When a stadium goes ahead, I expect to see businessman create a supply where there is a demand.
Its a much better way of thinking than constantly being negative and naysaying
