  • Pleased for St Perth but I feel sorry for them it's happened this season.
You could've got loads of young kids, floating voters who could end up obsessed with wendy money ball, along. And seeing your team win a cup when you're a bairn hooks you for life.

    • 3 cups for St. Johnstone since we last won one.

        • Well done to the farmers and has been already posted , for Davidson not to get manager of year award is just shocking , but sums up this countries media obsession with the ugly sisters .

          • Well done to the farmers - genuinely happy for them. A good club, well run by an excellent chairman, in stark contrast to us in our recent history.

It’s also good for us that HIV’s won’t be getting any big euro cash windfall now (no chance they’ll get through qualifying same as we wont) as that could have made life more difficult for us next season.

So, St J enjoy more success in 6 months than we’ve managed in 30 years. Substantially more if you also include 2014.

Our record looks worse and worse every year. Embarrassing really...

            • But who could do better on our budget?

Yep, but at least we know our place.

Disgraceful that St Johnstone don’t know theirs...

                • They’ll learn it. They’ve got 30 years of fans telling then they’ve got unreal expectation levels ahead of them. I feel sorry for the poor c*nts

                  • Have we missed a trick by not trying to get Callum Davidson in when McInnes departed?

I can’t think of many managers who have been more successful than he has been in his maiden season.

Of course it may well be the old “he’s a good fit for the club” scenario but to win both domestic cups in his first season as a manager is a fair achievement.

No doubt championship clubs in England will be sniffing about him soon .

                    • Well the BBC certainly seemed keen that he should move on yesterday.

Appalling condescending coverage which must have had St Johnstone fans shouting at the telly.

                      • If a club has a player or manager who is especially under a lengthy contract then the power is in the clubs hands. I don’t know the length of deal Davidson has at St.Johnstone but I hope they stand firm and keep a hold of him. Only let him go if they get a fantastic offer of compensation from new potential suitors.
Same with us for Ferguson. If our club rates him very highly then only let him move on if the sum of money offered is too good to turn down. It’s not as if we have a major debt of suchlike.

Preston, where he had a successful time as a player, are still manager-less.
They have a history of appointing Scottish managers.
Wouldn't surprise me if they had a sniff.

                          • Nobody knows, he could have landed lucky in inheriting a decent workmanlike squad from Wright. He could end up like Ivan Golac over whom the Plastics jizzed their manky poop, pish and unexplained discharge-encrusted undercrackers when they won the cup in 94. A year later we relegated the ****ing arseholes.

I hope he does well, since he seems like a decent human, but always bear in mind Jack Charlton’s comment at a press conference when he landed the Elland Road gig:

“It’s not the fact that my name’s chalked on to a little blackboard by my office door that worries me - it’s the damp sponge hanging next to it”.

Anyway, there’s **** all that can be done about the season that ended yesterday, and I stay true to my fitba philosophy, “if it’s nae the Dons or Keith, I dinna really give a ****”.

                            Apart from that etc...

                            • Absolutely agree re Ross. If that was McInnes' Dons not turning up (again) at Hampden the pitch forks would be out. The guy is developing a losers tag thats for sure, and yep, I think he'll be sacked as well.

Might even go for Derek as a replacement.
