  • I think that game is quite possibly our most celebrated defeat.
I was there also and Varga's two goals, especially the second into the Beach End were things of beauty.
T'was also the game a lassie got a knife stuck in her heid, it having been launched from the salt of the earth raselickbyrawaybutbigman fans.

...and during which Bumper displayed exemplary coorseness or $h1tehoosery when Harry Hood was in press-up mode, trying to get up off the grass, oor Arthur deliberately stamped on the Hood digits with the full force of his studs. Booked for his efforts. Apparently a spaver relative of PWLP was the fed who carried the chibbed quine out of the Beach End.

A knife in the head. Wow.

What sort of c*nt would dream of taking a knife to a game, let alone doing anything with it

Definitely our most celebrated defeat. On the day itself, as a not quite 7 year old I could not believe that we had been beat. We had won in the 1970 cup final and the previous year in the dryborough cup. So I couldn?t understand why we had lost although we had Varga.

As I was 7, and in the genteel Paddock, I never saw Bumper doing such a thing. As for knife crime- it is forgotten 50 years on that such alcohol fuelled macho nonsense was then the norm. Especially the unwashed constituents from Glesga.

And Josh Magennis, who is captain.

Nice article about Exeter City on the BBC website about how they turned around their fortunes, whilst being fully fan owned.

                • Aye I didna notice that until he scored! Could be a decent game with the early goal.

                  • Tommy Wright is the latest ex don to have a feature in the P&J.

Another player we took a punt on who ended up finished through injury.
Now a plod and regrets not sticking around Pittodrie longer.

                            • Latest ex don to get a feature in the P&J is Jerel Ifil.

Apologies for those still suffering from PTSD from watching him.

He is a god botherer now after becoming a born again christian before he joined us.

Isn't really into football now and can't play the game either due to issues with artiritis.

I quite sure it's not just me that thought he wasn't into football either when he played for us.

It's the level he was playing at after he left which is most worrying and like a few others featuring in this feature, you really have to wonder how they ever ended up here in the first place.

Sad times indeed to be a dandy.
