That's how I view it as well. Paterson came along and sucked the life out of all that though. It was a different kind of fun sapping ****e that we've had to endure.Originally posted by InversneckieDob View PostNo, that's nae what I'm saying at all.
The Alex Miller era (and the McGhee era) were joyless, dark, bleak, soul crushing days.
The Ebbe era, whilst probably (with a few exceptional moments) just as sh!te fitba wise, prompted ……. something.
Maybe it was some weird, quasi-Stockholm syndrome...….cult like feeling, amongst the collective support.
I like to think it was part of the "bottoming out" process, and this circling the wagons, bloody-mindedness kicked in.
Maybe it was a personal thing to me, there was a good crowd of good guys that went together week in week out and had some blinding p!ss ups and a laugh and a half every week.
I reckon it was probably "all of the above" and they were happy times, albeit the fitba was rank.

Who replaced Langfield? As in, which manager moved him on?Originally posted by Mason89 View PostThat’s a fair old conclusion you’ve jumped to there. It’s possible not to be shyte or boring. One thing I’ve noticed over the years on here, is that fans seem to deal in absolutes. Milnes great because others are worse and that’s the only alternative, boring or death. See also Langfield is impossible to replace, there isn’t another manager that can do the job other than McInnes, we must move from Pittodrie or the club will die
Where’s your sense of adventure?

Soutar too. What that mahogany-skinned weedgie buffoon saw in him I'll never know. Queen of the ****ing South, for ****'s sake.Originally posted by Aldo1983 View PostScott Brown was worse than Langfield. Something I can't forgive McInnes or Milne for. He can't even walk without bouncing.

Are you not thinking of Jason Brown the Welsh blob that Craig Brown signed, was awful in the SC semi against Hibs...rather than Scott Brown the English bottle merchant that McInnes signed who was awful in the LC semi versus the Jutes?Originally posted by Aldo1983 View PostScott Brown was worse than Langfield. I remember Scott Brown walking along the touchline before a game when yon Welsh goalie was playing. He had the oddest walk.Originally posted by Redbull666 View PostNo argument there, I just thought you must have meant the former due to being built like a beach ball. If he was in that shape back then I dread to think what he looks like now.
He had a string of clean sheets and it meant people forgot he was absolutely pish.
He should never have played for us again after that Jute game. Although he should never have played it in the first place.

I was just away to say, didn't he break some kind of clean sheet record for us? From memory I don't think it was much to do with him!Originally posted by Aldo1983 View PostI remember Scott Brown walking along the touchline before a game when yon Welsh goalie was playing. He had the oddest walk.

Scort Brown may have been absolute pish but Jason Brown had already left the club before Scott signed for us so your memory must be playing tricks...Originally posted by Aldo1983 View PostI remember Scott Brown walking along the touchline before a game when yon Welsh goalie was playing.
