Positives for me were a silent Saka, and Eze for most of it. We have a really good bottom half team, premier league quality all over the pitch, but not Arsenal or Man City quality obviously.
We lost the Championship last time round on goal difference. Scotty might not wish to repeat the trick when the relegation places come round.

Post-match Arteta said it was a difficult afternoon and he was happy to come away with three points. Credit to the Arsenal fans too, they turned up in good numbers, swelled Pace's bank account and a good afternoon was enjoyed by all.

We will be able to rip new arseholes for teams who concede no goals in ten games, lose three times a year and then go to the Bernabeu and stuff Real Madrid.

Another wave of the wand might end the obvious bias the PMGOL referees show to the Big City teams. Yesterday was pfhucking embarrassing, every 50/50 call went to Arsenal, two non-corners awarded to the team who use corners as goals.

One other thing. We have 22 professional outfield footballers who practice or play almost every day and not one of them are capable of taking a corner like Declan Rice.

Every corner he takes is hit with laser like accuracy towards half a dozen 6 foot plus athletes who can attack the ball with unmatched ferocity.

I refuse to criticise the Clarets who matched the Gunners for large parts of this contest.

Unfortunately, we do not have a Declan Rice but we have Kyle Walker who is almost as good. COYC.
That’s just obnoxious isnt it - i or others didnt say that we’d beat them hands down and we onow well get nothing from the officials - ill put it down to fishing again as I always say i day what i see.

The other thing is as i said previously to you you should have been a politician as you take what people say / opinions and flip them to make us sound like we’re slagging the team off - either that or you just don't absorb what peole write.

You my friend are deluded the game was boring for us ( Arsenal are boring to watch ) but very efficient at what they do.

Parker need s to play his strongest 11 to start and decide what his plans are and for me not accept a small defeat before we start the game.

Your sarcastic and derogatory words won?t change that for me

I am puzzled as to how the manager can take a player off when the second goal is scored or at half time when he didn't actually come on untll the 62nd minute. It used to be Marney, until fans finally realised what he contributed in his third season with the club. It was then followed by Hendrick who was possibly the most slagged off player in recent times. Then it was Brownhill who lots criticised for not staying this season, even though the same people criticising were shouting out that he was not good enought for the PL. Now it is JBL, who should have been taken off before he even came on.
Nothing changes at the Turf these days ----who wil be next?

The moaning Minnies on here are the worse we have ever had mein freund.

No matter what anyone thinks the EPL matchdays are a fantastic spectator experience. We are back amongst the big boys and have a chance of keeping our place.

My three youngest grandkids love the whole experience.

            Rejoice!

Yesterday mon ami, I watched this year's EPL winners, a Rolls Royce of a team, physically fit and quick to boot, slick as an oil slick in the North Sea, well drilled, well coached with a manager who has had a billion quid plus to spend over his six year tenure in the Gunners hot seat. Well supported, the team are a bit too theatrical for me in the diving department, but it will be one heck of a team who finishes above them season.

Just to be on the same pitch giving it a good go was plenty for me, shame a lot of others do not share my enthusiasm.

On a different note, how are Clitheroe doing this season?

                A different perspective:
Really think Scott Parker needs to be more ambitious playing against the big dogs All the substitutes and especially Hannibal played better than the starters so why not starting them and playing all the time so defensively You are going to loose anyway against Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool/Man City/Man Utd/Tottenham so try to score and do not fear the opponent by playing 8 players in defense and defense midfield but rather try to play and be more audacious Hannibal played 15 minutes and created more danger than the whole team during 75 minutes We ask Parker to stop being stubborn. This is Premier League and not Championship

Hannabel nearly cost us a goal as per usual by losing possession just outside is own box in injury time, he always costs us a goal and should only ever be used has a substitute against the better sides

If Hannabel and Edward's had have played from the off along with another wide man, I can confidently say that we would have conceded 4 at least.

Did you lot not learn anything from the Kompany premier league season? We just aren't good enough to go toe to with the likes of Arsenal who have 100 million pounds players

Post 22# was taken from a Facebook page to show a different opinion.

Football chucks up more divergent opinions than either religion or politics.

In my own opinion, anybody who actually thinks we should have gone toe-to-toe with Arsenal is soft in the head.

Nobody wants the team to go toe to toe with the Gunners-they just want us to show a bit of ambition besides how to keep down the number of goals conceded.
0-2 or 2-4 makes for the same goal difference. For 70+ minutes yesterday all I witnessed was damage limitation with zero ambition. We did not have a attempt on target in 90 minutes FFS.

Not my point at all army, which actually is that we can pontificate all week about team selection, formation, tactics, substitutions, Foster up top on his own or with Flemming, JBL out right, or not, Laurent too slow, not PL standard, or not, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 5-3-2, 5-4-1, attacking subs, defensive subs, on after 60 minutes or maybe 70 minutes, and it's like sticking ear-rings on a pig, it isn't going to make a whole lot of difference, against Arsenal after 90 odd minutes, we lose.

Funny old game football mon ami, on their day they will beat teams from the division above, if it's not their day they'll lose to the bottom of the League. Last Saturday they beat Stockton from the top end of Premier League in the FA Trophy quite comfortably, on Tuesday night they just about managed a late equaliser at home to a bog standard D1 team in Sporting Khelsa. You just never know which Clitheroe will turn up and our star left-back has just jumped ship to Southport. To be honest, I'm not convinced by the manager, but he seems well liked and has the board's confidence. We'll see.

Well I will put it another way.

Playing the likes of Arsenal is not the type of game when you throw caution to the wind and go all out attack, or you will conceed 7 or 8

Just watched the Citeh Bmouuth game. As soon as Citeh went 3-1, 2 goals up, BM manger made immediate changes. Progressive not passive?
