Sad to hear that Colin who excelled as a keeper for both club and country has passed away.

Yes, that is really sad news. Condolences to his family on this sad occasion.
Smashing keeper who I first saw in April 1954 when he made his debut. It was a shame that injury shortened his career because I still rate him as possibly the best I have seen in a Burnley shirt. RIP Colin and thanks for the memories.

I did see him a few times in the 50s but it's only a vague recollection. My dad, who watched a lot of football in the 50s, and wasn't a Burnley fan, said he was easily the best goalkeeper he ever saw.

RIP Colin, a true Burnley legend.

          RIP Colin
He was Nurnley's best ever Keeper.

The only keeper who was near to him was Yashin the russian goalkeeper.

Watched him many, many times. Probably the best we have ever had and we have had some good ones. Condolences to his family.

Colin before my time and for Sir Outwood to make such a massive statement he must have been great.
My first memory was Peter Mellor, Tony Waiters, Alan Stevenson, we had Tom Heaton, Popey, Trafford, Dubravka lately. Anyone care to name others in between as a good memory jog?

Beresford and Jensen were not at all bad.

I only go back as far as Adam Blacklaw.

Sadly I never saw him play for either Burnley or England but my father saw him play and said he was a class above. The best I?ve seen would be Blacklaw, Stevenson, Heaton.

I was always a big fan of the Dancing Keeper.
