Clearly what needs to happen now is to examine and record why we were such a good club in the late 50's early 60's and begin to develop in that manner. I do realise there are more ways to build a team such as AI but these can be developed once we are on the way to a recovery position.
One thing that help us as a club is to develop younger players and play them in gradual doses until they become established. The number of very young players who became household names was prolific but no longer I cannot see if/how our current crop of youngsters can ever make the first team this is clearly a significant weakness. We very often got the better young players because they were given early chances to be introduced to the first team.
We are way behind as far as younger players are concerned and if it does not change radically then we might as well stop funding the youth teams as they contribute nothing to our club.
Just look at the methodology adopted by the likes of Brentford it is all their on the internet so we should be able to develop in a similar way it is not all based on AI.
The thing is we must be able to bring in someone who is passionate about developing a methodology that incorporates past successes and include up to date new methods that are available.
I do not know how such thoughts/ideas get channelled to Alan Pace but maybe someone on this board has an avenue or contact for positive contributions like this and other ideas to be considered by the likes of Alan Pace.
