    • The proper way to unpeel a banana is from the end opposite the stalk. Banana fruits are roughly triangular in shape.

      • Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula once had a fight with Oscar Wilde over a woman,he was great friends with Wilde but when Wildes childhood sweetheart Florence Balcombe decided to marry Stoker he left Ireland and moved to England where presumably he had an epiphany (nudge nudge) Stoker and Balcombe remained married until Stokers death

If you put cling film around the stalk of a banana they last longer

Indeed. It also changed my perception when I discovered that a banana is in three segments.

I’ve got a feeling that I’m being led into a trap or a Pete type pun but here goes…

                    Three segments griff?

Surely the easiest way is to pull the stalk down, just because some chimps down at the zoo do it doesn’t make it right, when I went to see them back in the 70’s it looked like they couldn’t even make a cup of tea without throwing the plastic tea pot about

Yup. Summat to do with female banana plant ovaries.

                        • I’ve just had a banana to test the theories out for myself and peeled the banana from the bottom aaaaand…

It peeled far easier than than pulling it from the stalk, then I split the banana into three and it worked, why haven’t I known about this from school, they are tailor made for feeding babies like this,I love a banana sandwich every now and again and it now seems stupid to cut them up the old way

                          My mind is blown!

                          • Just part of the service Chalky. And you’re right, it’s the way that parents are advised to feed bananas to their sprogs. Less of a choking hazard.
