Hang on that's our money they're using to pay the vat, they haven't earned 1 penny in their whole lives and therefore have no dealings with HMRC.

If a group of us were shipwrecked on a desert island, 1 person would rise to the top and become the leader, probably because he has the ideas regarding building shelter and sourcing food. He wouldn't work as hard as the rest of us and would probably end up with the best sleeping area and the same food as us. The scrounger would sit on the beach all day topping up his tan and at the end of the day would join the rest of us and demand his food and shelter. I know what I would say to him and the leader, I would probably moan, but respect that he lead the way for us all.

The thought of that desert island is quite tempting at the moment!

Yes glory be to the landed gentry who's ancestors murdered ours to steal our land. We now must respect them and Bow and scrape as they order us to judge the 'scroungers'. Who needs them to pay their way.

You have a point about genuine scroungers, but one which certainly doesn't extend to all benefit claimants. Beyond that you just seem to be building a case for selfish, irresponsible, uncaring and parasitic leadership/ownership. Genuinely amazed at what you appear to be advocating. Not related to Sir Philip Green or the Sherriff of Nottingham are you?

        • We all know what real scroungers are, unwashed dope smoking, special brew drinking scumbags who have never worked and don't ever intend to work either, always got enough money to buy their luxuries but no money to pay their depts. Even tax dodgers pay to keep this scum! They breed like rabbits and all their kids will end up the same. Rant over

...and that makes self assessment avoidance and huge corporation evasion better how? Honestly...you and Ram are like a medic treating a cut knee without ever noticing that the femoral artery has been severed.

            • So in summary most of the pro Brexit camp are anti scrounger whereas Mangara from the pro EU camp is more tolerant of benefit scroungers preferring their small crimes to the bigger ones of the well healed. Tweedleswale is conspicuously silent on the scrounger debate.

Im thinking EU nationals scrounging off our State Benefits must therefore be a huge bete noir to many (except Mangara who will be there at the Eurotunnel welcoming them off the train 😊😊&#128522

I think you'll find me and anagRam are both anti scroungers. We are also just pro logic.

He'll have to push Lilly Allen aside to do it, poor bloke.

I, by the way, am a remainer who is still very much anti scrounger and even more so anti uncontrolled immigration so we have all sorts

Yes Swale is missed, perhaps he's gone for a lie down after that incident where he appeared to be doing the forum equivalent of standing in the middle of a room and aiming punches at everyone, friend or foe. Get well soon Swale

                  • Roger the Dodger...ever the mischief maker. You won't find anything at all that I've written suggesting that I support any form of 'scrounging', including 'EU nationals scrounging off our State Benefits'.
You may well find me being welcoming to refugees...suppose you'd just go into career mode and start counting them.

When did you become a 'Remainer' again then Andy? You've been an 'I voted Remain but now we've 'lost' I really can see the benefit of leaving so let's make a go of it' for the last six months. Wind of change suddenly blowing a little stronger?

Nah, more like gunning them down: make them feel at home that way - see I'm welcoming too

Oh dear...it's one of RR's 'let yourself down' days. Congratulations on that truly objectionable comment...more offensive than anything DCFCA has ever written...let me know when the adult Roger returns.

I meant I voted remain. To me, a remainer is someone who voted remain and a remoaner is someone who voted remain and is in denial about it. That puts swale in exhalted company like Branson.

I was trolling round facebook the other night and saw a backlash thread relating to Branson funding some remoaner activity, where the backlash was to not buy anything he benefitted from. Someone wrote 'Boycott Branson Pickle' which I could not work out as being a joke or not.....

Why would anyone be 'in denial' about voting 'Remain'? More to the point, how does still making the case for 'Remain' and continuing to oppose Brexit, even after suffering the slenderest of 'defeats' in probably the most misunderstood vote of all time, constitute moaning?
As an apparently life long Tory - albeit of the more 'one nation' kind - can we assume that after Wilson/Callaghan/Blair's election victories you suddenly started supporting Labour? Surely those of us who still believe the Brexit vote to be a huge mistake and the idea of May and Trump getting into 'bed' together - pardon the imagery - an even bigger one are right to continue to resist.

You're missing the point entirely. Take away wealth and social standing and everyone starts equal. A natural leader will come to the fore, it doesn't matter about his wealth or upbringing, a genuine benefit claimant will work as hard as anyone given an equal chance, but my point is that a scrounger, no matter what the circumstances, will expect everything for nothing.
