Curious why you'd think a millionaire whose beliefs and world view are just about 19th century and who quickly moved his hedge fund HQ to Dublin so he would not be financially affected by Brexit, then admitted that it could take 50 years for any of the supposed benefits of Brexit to materialise and who has consistently crticised the government from the sidelines without making revealing one coherent plan about how Brexit would work would be a wise or suitable choice for Prime Minister of this country but hey ho!Originally posted by Manofpride View PostOr Mogg, any will do!

So revocation of Article 50 has now overtaken banning of Ms Begum as the most supported epetition on line, with over 600,000 signatories and rising.
You're doing a grand job there rA signing up so often. Your wrist must be aching!
But seriously, for one moment. These petitions call upon Parliament to debate the issue!! What do people think they have been doing all this time? Also by the time the petition is closed off, we will be past 29-03!
Anyway, good luck with it, its looking like the options are revocation and default no deal at the moment. But does no deal address the Irish issue any better than May's deal does?

Not me, Parky. Unlike BoJo apparently my wrist is fine...don’t recall having even seen this e-petition let alone signed it.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostSo revocation of Article 50 has now overtaken banning of Ms Begum as the most supported epetition on line, with over 600,000 signatories and rising.

Still I’m glad to see the sensible folk have overtaken the nincompoops in the online petition stakes.

Sensible folk like 'comedian' 'writer' and 'social commentator' Will Self, who no doubt added his paw print to that petition and as recently as last weekend decreed on national TV that 'all Brexiteers are racists or anti-semites'. A great guy to have on the team I'm sure you'll agree. In truth, there are good and bad people on both sides of the argument both in relation to Begum and Brexit, its the broad brush dismissing of people with opposing views that's contributing to national conflict IMOOriginally posted by ramAnag View PostNot me, Parky. The tone of both mine and Parky’s comments were tongue in cheek, Andy.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostSensible folk like 'comedian' 'writer' and 'social commentator' Will Self, who no doubt added his paw print to that petition and as recently as last weekend decreed on national TV that 'all Brexiteers are racists or anti-semites'. Seeing as you mention it I know nothing of Will Self’s comments but, again seeing as you mention it, those signing the Begum epetition are being simplistic at best...she is a British citizen, we have to have her back.
As for the Brexit epetition...the country is in the biggest mess I can remember thanks to the PM’s instransigence, the ERG’s extremism and many of the 37%’s gullibility.
It’s no longer a question of who’s right and who’s wrong. Extremist stubbornness is making this country a laughing stock. Our future prospects of prosperity are perilously close to ruin and if you can’t see it now you never will.

Actually Will Self said nothing of the sort, he said most racists and Anti Semites voted for brexit, which as that chump of an MP Francoise failed yo understand is not the same thing at all - an MP by the way who referred to the the “Teutonic arrogance” of the EU and other clear racist coments about the germans.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostSensible folk like 'comedian' 'writer' and 'social commentator' Will Self, who no doubt added his paw print to that petition and as recently as last weekend decreed on national TV that 'all Brexiteers are racists or anti-semites'. You see Andy, saying all apples are fruit is not the same as saying all fruit are apples but perhaps you fail to understand even that simple principle?
Anyway over 2 million and counting, whereas a leave with no deal petition hasn't passed 400,000 yet - the play has a long way to run and who knows commonsense might save the day!

Shame on you Ana, its simple to sign an e petition just google it and add your voice to the growing clamour for an end to this nonsense - over 2 million in 24 hrs is impressive and the more sane people express their views the less this appalling PM, this desperate stubborn mule headed fool can ignore it - not that she has any future other than to be remembered as the Pm that had a hissy fit, when parliament acted as it should, funny that Brexiteers who claimed that Brexit was about regaining parliaments sovereignty start threatening the members of that parliament when they dont like it doing just that!Originally posted by ramAnag View PostNot me, Parky. No deal would be a disaster, for the EU and for the UK. over 2 million now and the point is that parliament has not debated revocation of article 50.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostSo revocation of Article 50 has now overtaken banning of Ms Begum as the most supported epetition on line, with over 600,000 signatories and rising.

You’re right Swale...just signed...2,139,000 now. Just to be clear though..only the once Parky!Originally posted by swaledale View PostShame on you Ana, its simple to sign an e petition just google it and add your voice to the growing clamour for an end to this nonsense - over 2 million in 24 hrs is impressive and the more sane people express their views the less this appalling PM, this desperate stubborn mule headed fool can ignore it - not that she has any future other than to be remembered as the Pm that had a hissy fit, when parliament acted as it should, funny that Brexiteers who claimed that Brexit was about regaining parliaments sovereignty start threatening the members of that parliament when they dont like it doing just that!
As regards Begum...I believe she’s only ever had British citizenship and international law says you can’t make a person ‘stateless’...that’s all there is to it isn’t it?
She has undoubtedly behaved stupidly and badly but we have to accept our responsibility as we have with so many other wrongdoers.
P.S. Think calling Mark Francoise a ‘chump’ is the most benevolent you’ve ever been. He’s a total ‘ah’ imo.Last edited by ramAnag; 21-03-2019, 11:41 PM.
