He was on about the threat to NATO by talk of this crap.

When I hear, Juncker/Macron/Verhofstadt scream about ever closer union/an army/ one border/ one currency and take a look at how close they've got to that inside 40 years. Then it is inevitable that at some point they will achieve it. Masstricht/ then Lisbon brought that ever closer. Deny it/ignore it all you want, it's happening right now.
What ever the differences are, there or not, it isn't stopping them is it|?

1. No one ever suggested they didn’t want the Economic Union to grow.
2. The argument that a purpose of any European Union would be to benefit the pursuit of lasting peace in a troubled continent, which for the first half of the Twentieth Century had been ruined by War, is nothing new.
3. Yes there’s an EU flag...it flies alongside all the other national flags...not instead of them.
4. Yes there’s an EU anthem...so what? No national anthem has subsequently been abandoned.
5. Yes the EU has its own currency...unless I’ve missed something they haven’t insisted we sacrifice the £ and join the €.
6. Yes there’s a European Supreme Court but when was the last time matters relating to the this or any other European country had its will imposed upon them?
7. ‘Soon to be army’. Says who? Says you...where’s the evidence? As MA said only yesterday the nations are too disparate. We don’t even have the commonality of language that they do in the USA. There is no evidence that there are plans for an USE army and the role is already largely performed by NATO.

We just disagree...and the difference between NATO and an EU Army is that the former involves the armies and governments of different countries working together as allies...quite different from the formation of one disparate army that you are so obsessed with.

I can’t think of one. Can’t think of a single instance of the European Court passing a judgement which has negatively impinged on our way of life.

Of course...but, pedantry aside, as you (probably) and most ‘civilised’ folk do now believe that workers do have rights and that gender equality is a force for good, then can you come up with an example of the European Courts imposing something detrimental on our country?

I honestly can’t and can only think of things which have been generally beneficial...but that’s probably because of that ‘bubble’ I apparently inhabit according to our semi resident red dog ukipper.
