DAVEY not Daley. I thought you voted Lib Dem?
GP’s right...the examples aren’t compatible...but that wasn’t my point. I was referring to your suggestion about the Brexit vote being a reaction to us being told what to do...or ‘what was good for’ us.
We are constantly advised/told/ordered to do what is good for us. That was my point...and you really can’t keep justifying something via optional attendance and private setting. You know where that can lead.

Davey, not Daley...of course, sorry, my mistake, I was only on loan to the Lib Dems while Corbyn was around.

The ‘epitome’ of why you ‘rant’, Tricky? My achievement for the day.

    • Ah so you have fled the Libdem camp now they have lost all credibility and are a sinking ship. Fair weather fan?

Now don't go blaming Bielek, Sibley, Buchanan et al if they leave this equally sinking ship in January.

Forest Green may be vegan by association, the Rams are the new LibDems

Lol...if you like. To be clear...I last voted LibDem locally because they are the only viable alternative. I couldn’t vote for Labour, nationally, under Corbyn because I thought he was inept...but I do have some faith in Starmer and let’s face it...anything could only be an improvement on what we have now.

I fear the Rams may actually be the new UKIP...totally f***ed...hope I’m wrong (about the former)...who I will continue to support.

As for Royston, I've never seen him, but is he any worse than Jimmy Carr or Frankie Boyle in his politically incorrect approach to making people laugh. I suppose he is - Royston has never been seen on TV, the other two are regulars, Royston spent his early years in borstal and jail, the other two at university....... Ah such is the equality of opportunity we all crave

I remember being mighty pissed off when at university myself when Birmingham City Council banned The Tubes from performing and my tickets had to go back (replaced by seeing Captain Beefheart as it happens). It was extremely annoying and I've always objected to such nanny state censorship ever since.

Its not the same thing as maximum driving speeds etc examples that you cite rA - the examples you cite do not mean that you cannot do them- its just that there could be consequences if you do. You cannot attend a comedian's performance or a gig if some council official bans it. it simply wont happen. Same with censoring Lolita, Lady Chatterley's Lover, Spycatcher to name but a few examples closer to your territory.
I've just got new found respect for you, the Tubes? Didn't realise Brum banned them, saw them at Newcastle City hall, and to be honest their act was different but not especially outrageous, but maybe I was too liberal in those days? A couple of years back they did a one off gig in Norwich and were going to tour again, but Covid has delayed matters.

I did see Beefheart at the Odeon, a fantastic show IMO.

Its the fact that most western countries have a negative birth rate, an increasingly older population and the net effect will be economic stagnation. But history tells us all civilisations whither and decay so nothing to worry about.

It's only those who own the companies who are worried. The greater the population, the more goods and services are required. Less population means less g&s required. It's the shareholders who "demand" more profit/dividend year on year. That is tied to population levels. They don't see it. They just see the "more" that they want.

                    Stop that right now,

You'll cause a riot in here, You don't know what you're talking about and no one knew what they voted for.
The EU is paradise, you only have to listen to VDL/Verhofstadt/Micron.

Run for Germany and France by Germany and France. That's the NL take on it but they want to remain.

I’ve monitored Swale for some time and he has a thinly disguised hope for the demise of white western culture so he wouldn’t be interested in the corporate side. Good observation on the Micron/ Macron thing by the way
