I don't know MA, if only we could go back to the 1950's when men were men and women were women and each knew their rightful place in society. We had none of this same *** or trans malarkey in those days, oh wait didn't we disgracefully mistreat a very intelligent guy who was gay whose code breaking helped win the war?

Mm I witnessed the Spanish Police in action at a football match a while back and they were indiscriminately beating people who hadn't done a thing. I'm rather more confident that the Uk Police are less likely to use mindless violence than most of those abroad, especially to people not involved in any confrontation with them.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostFunny you should mention Spain rA, and I can’t explain this, but I have far more confidence in any given Spanish ‘policeman’ (be it Policia Local or Guardian Civil) than I do in the equiv in the U.K., when I see one in day to day mooching around. also to contrast, I doubt a day went by when I didn’t see a Spanish foot patrol of some sort, the last one I saw in U.K. was before I moved house over two years ago

Indeed, there were no "trans" back in those days but we did have "cross dressers".Originally posted by swaledale View PostI don't know MA, if only we could go back to the 1950's when men were men and women were women and each knew their rightful place in society. That wasn’t really my point, AF. I wasn’t comparing in that way. It’s just that I think I’m correct in saying that the police in most countries I visit regularly - Spain, Germany, France and the USA - seem to be armed, whereas the Brits aren’t and I think, as RS intimated, it’s going to become more of an issue in the near future.Originally posted by Andy_Faber View PostFunny you should mention Spain rA, and I can’t explain this, but I have far more confidence in any given Spanish ‘policeman’ (be it Policia Local or Guardian Civil) than I do in the equiv in the U.K., when I see one in day to day mooching around. also to contrast, I doubt a day went by when I didn’t see a Spanish foot patrol of some sort, the last one I saw in U.K. was before I moved house over two years ago
Unfortunately, because of the nature of the job and the ‘power’ that goes with it, the police force will always attract a number of bullies so while I have faith in the majority of all police in all the countries I visit there will be a not insignificant minority who it might be entirely inappropriate to arm. That is a problem and my personal ‘jury’ remains ‘out’ on this one.

I wasn’t really responding to your point which I’m not sure about either, just wondered if you had the same ‘feeling’ about Spanish policing in general.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostThat wasn’t really my point, AF. The police can recruit any height lets get that right. Now I didn't measure her, but 5ft was about right in height and around 50kg maximum weight. Now tell me again, if you think thats sufficient to tackle a criminal of average male build? If you think it is, god help you.Originally posted by MadAmster View PostTTR, although there are no legal height requirements to become a police officer in the UK, most forces won't even look at you if you're male and under 5 foot 7 or female and under 5 foot 4. I presume your 4 foot 11 comment is a colloquialism.
Khalifa. From what I've read, and it's possible I haven't seen all relevant facts, it appears that she was born with a vagina, a uterus, a womb, has periods and can have children. She is female, not trans, fully transitioned or simply self identified. She's not even Hermaphrodite, an issue that saw Caster Semanya barred from running 400m, 800m and 1500m unless she underwent hormione treatment. It seems that the only time there has been any doubt was when the IBA, halfway through a tournament, decided she had too much testosterone in her body to meet their criteria for what constitutes a woman. The IBA is not a body the IOC recognises which is why she has been allowed to take part in the Olympics. One Irish boxer is on record as saying that she and 8 others have beaten Khalifa in the ring so she's certainly not all conquering.
If you can find any reliable sources that conclusively prove she ever had "dangly bits" I'd love to see them.
Women have a role in the police, I accept that, but to think women on the front line, lets say even in a riot when it kicks off is ok?
Pathetic to even think so.
So I'll go back. Her and the male copper, were sent post haste to a break in by numbers unknown. What do you think she'd have achieved in a scrap? Next you'll be telling me you're happy to have one of these women serving in the SAS or SBS , where guaranteed they will experiance hand to hand combat up close and personal.
Its horses for courses and folks are kidding themselves that this will work out fine in the name of woke.
No one has yet explained how any of those 2 women failed to even flinch, before being sparked out in the Manchester airport.
as for Khalifa.
Two female boxers who were disqualified from the 2023 world championship after being judged to have failed gender eligibility tests were cleared to fight at the Olympic Games in Paris, and it sparked online outrage from conservatives and anti-LGBTQ+ commentators
International Boxing Association Russian president, Umar Kremlev, claimed that DNA test results showed the two athletes have XY chromosomes, but the results were never published
They aint females for a level playing field and if folks think this is aceeptable, I pity you

Oh get over yourself. They were pitiful. They went into a situation they couldn't possibly deal with physicallyOriginally posted by ramAnag View PostYou do know the meaning of ‘pathetic’ don’t you? It means…pitiful…so with absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of these women’s level of ability you have written them off as ‘pitiful’ while, as ever, abusing anyone who disagrees with you. That, TTR, is ‘pathetic’.
Moving on from your idiocy and rudeness. Coincidentally, for the first time ever on the ferry over to Dieppe a week ago I saw something I’ve never seen before…the presence of heavily armed members of the ‘Gendarme Maritime’ throughout the crossing. Five of them, all carrying holstered hand guns in addition to what I took to be semi automatic weapons. Didn’t know whether to be alarmed or reassured, but came down on the side of the latter given the potential terrorist threat as we sailed on the opening day of the Paris Olympics.
As a matter of fact…one of the five was a giant of a man…the other four all smaller than me. Doubt whether it would have made any difference and I’d have been just as reassured if any of the five had been women, but the question RS poses is one I fear we are all going to have to face up to in the not so distant future…been the case in Spain for ages and I’ve never felt intimidated, but then I’m unlikely to set out to harm anyone.
If you watched the incident closely. The two asians, were obviously experianced boxers or martial arts trained.
They didn't stand a chance and it showed. Like 2 mannequins waiting to be whacked.
Let me tell you a secret. In HMP, it will take 2 or 3 burly men to take down one prisoner. One will grip that prisoner like a python coiled around his prey, to stop him wriggling. The other one or two will fight him.
I have seen women officers get launched across a room when this happens.
If you think its great and normal, then carry on matey. You still know feck all.

What are you on about you muppet? If you want to go back to the 50's, coppers had to be 6ft minimum for a good reason. Your equality woke changed all that. Look at how its panning out for them. They will get battered and obviously with your full support. I hope it makes you feel better.Originally posted by swaledale View PostI don't know MA, if only we could go back to the 1950's when men were men and women were women and each knew their rightful place in society. What about your mates in leeds/ Birmingham/ Tottenham/east london ?Originally posted by swaledale View PostI see Thickys mates are out and about on the streets, attacking Police, looting shops and causing general mayhem! Admittedly some of them seem slightly more intelligent than Thicky, but that's not a high bar.
Oh they don't count do they, must have had a valid reason, like a cricket match upset or something happening in Bangladesh that upset them.
Yearh, only white people kick off with no reason.

Hmmm…so these two guys who were ‘obviously experienced boxers or martial arts trained’…you reckon in such circumstances a male officer would have done so much better do you?Originally posted by Trickytreesreds View PostOh get over yourself. That’s surely why we need a debate about how well the police should be armed.
As for ‘let me tell you a secret’…listening to you has become a bit like Jackanory, ‘it will take 2 or 3 burly men to take down one prisoner’. I’m sure that’s true with some hard cases and yes, I can only imagine how hard that might be, but it doesn’t always take that does it? That’s just rubbish.
Btw…how long is it since you were a prison officer and how long for…because when I first started on here about eight years ago you were claiming to be an engineer.

It would help if you checked out the footage because that’s exactly what happened.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostHmmm…so these two guys who were ‘obviously experienced boxers or martial arts trained’…you reckon in such circumstances a male officer would have done so much better do you?
