Spot on, Sith. Another example of Farage using the tiniest grain of truth to fuel his populist lies and turning his attack upon autistic people about whom he clearly knows nothing.Originally posted by SithHappens View Post
At the risk of cross threading with your film thread, I found a series called ‘Years and Years’ on Netflix recently. Tremendous stuff. Very disturbing, particularly Emma Thomason’s brilliant portrayal of the ‘Farumpian’ populist leader who captures the public imagination. Made in 2019 and set between then and 2034 I’ve only watched two of the six episodes so far and I’m not certain where it’s going, but it’s already highly recommended and scarily relevant.Last edited by ramAnag; 27-04-2025, 08:15 AM.

I think you?re scattergunning your grievances a bit too much to get any sort response, sensible or otherwise, hereOriginally posted by Trickytreesreds View PostSo, 9 months later, after all slating of Tory rule, lets have a quick recap on the tool makers son's record. Remember all his promises and things that WOULDN'T /WON'T HAPPEN?
Changes tack more times than the Olympic yachting team
Complete chaos in under 9 months. Imagine the state of the UK after 5 more years
However, One of your issues, two tier policing, has got very current relevance - and I?m going to very carefully use ?apparently? here as I haven?t seen absolute proof - there was a demonstration against the recent ?what is a woman? ruling in London last week, some of the placards went waaaay into hate speech, calling for the death of certain individuals, yet somehow the police didn?t notice them, then when offered evidence later in the week by the public, claimed they were from events in the past, and only now have accepted they were current. They?ve stated they?ll ?launch a enquiry?, what and when not disclosed. Set against that, some who committed similar misdemeanours in last years riots had been arrested, tried and thrown un clink in the same timescale. My observation is that the ?silent majority? are becoming less silent as such inequities, hidden by mainstream media, are being exposed in the new world of everyone having their own TV channel. I?m against hate speech of any kind, it seems the police are picking and choosing
NB not sure there?s an edict from HMG on this, many will suspect there is

A man arrested for having a sign that said, HAMAS are terrorists. Locked up then released with a dispersion order
Another with a sign calling Israel and Jews Nazis, with a swastika logo and calling for Intifada
Police ignored it did nothing after a Jewish protestor complained. How did/ or who decides what our police respond to? Its getting worrying now.
Watch this one for intimidation, do they really have nothing better to do?

Smashing the gangs going well then?
Now we find that Labour are pushing all these "asylum " seekers into rental property, where landlords are lapping it up. With long term contracts, more rent, how exactly does the government think this impact the indigenous population.
It beggars' belief it really does.
I sill laugh at my bro in law, who served in the RAF for 16 years, yet the barracks he lived in, were deemed not good enough by lefty judges. No wonder they keep coming. The Tories and Labour have made this country a laughing stock. France told us years ago, stop giving them so much. Other countries such as Sweden/Denmark/Germany have learned the hard way, but putting it right.

A bit of a random comment rather out of context to upthread debate, but I suppose you cant see the earlier TTR posts! A client of mine who is Canadian (with EU passport) has said the whole country is boycotting travel to US and has ceased buying anything of US provenance. Evidently a big open market for Chinese goods now: a decision they may live to regret in times to comer.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostThe ‘Trump effect’ certainly going well…particularly in Canada!
Trump is no doubt a total wa*ker particularly when it comes to matters economic and is losing popular support hand over fist even amongst his core southern redneck supporters who dont really like inflation, especially when it puts up trailer park rental costs

Random? Really? It’s a comment about an election result on an Election thread. Just observing that Trump seems to have (unintentionally) managed to reinvigorate Canadian liberals.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostA bit of a random comment rather out of context to upthread debate, but I suppose you cant see the earlier TTR posts! I can?t speak for UK (I haven?t been asked yet and although I?m a bit of a soft touch for taking in folk without a ?settled status?, five years is too long a horizon), but I can confirm from an obviously made up anecdote from ten or so years ago about an obviously made up musician mate that the impact on indigenous populations can be severeOriginally posted by Trickytreesreds View Post.

Why is Labour bringing all these boat people into the country?
Why aren't they intercepting them mid channel and taking them back to France?
Why aren't the illegals having their claims dealt with quickly and efficiently and being deported if their claim is rejected?
Why aren't those who break the Law having their claims immediately refused and sent packing? Not talking about parking offence levels of Law breaking but violence theft and the like.
Why aren't they being given "training" in what is acceptable behaviour under UK Law and then be told, in no uncertain terms, that infringements such as violence theft etc will lead to immediate deportation. Preferably back to their own country but, if that's impossible as they had no ID papers/passport and won't say where they come from, a DNA test will be carried out to ascertain their probable origin and send them there.
If I was to kill 'er next door, I'd get a prison sentence. After I'd served it, I'd have my Dutch nationality rescinded, be noted as persona non grata and sent back to Blighty. That should happen to illegal immigrants too, although, having been found guilty and sentenced, merely deporting them back to wherever would save a lot of money on prison costs...

With regards to just returning them, we lost a lot of our rights to do that with brexit.Originally posted by MadAmster View PostWhy is Labour bringing all these boat people into the country?
